Chelmsfords Crowds

Recommended Posts

Yes, I think that was rather cheeky of Sean to make that statement, especially as it wasn't too long ago when we were "enjoying" crowds of only 3/400. I like to think that the MP crowds will hold up, and depending on results, would hope that we can attract a hard core of around 1,000. Still early days however, so it will be interesting to see what happens once the novelty wears off and we've banned the minority of schoolkids that are currently causing concern at MP.

Yes, but when you consider that the attendance on January 2nd was a 750% increase on our previous "home" gate, it brings it a little more into perspective.

Lets put it this way.
There are 2.7 million people in the Diocese of Chelmsford
Last Saturday you got 1,458 thru the turnstiles.
That represents 0.054% of people in your diocese bothered to turn-up. I'll leave you to come to your own conclusions!

2.7 million ? Where do you get that number from Ryan - I've told you 7 million times not to exaggerate!

Besides, your numbers are flawed anyway - even if your population figure were correct, the attendance was actually 1,485 (what we accountants would call an erroneous transposition on your part), and therefore it was a massive 0.055% that "bothered to turn up"

ryan i detect you are bitter. i think in the last few weeks there has been a shift in the powers. as far as i was concerned billericay were a bigger and better club. unfortunately for you guys chelmsford have stepped it up and i dont think it will be long before they get bigger and better players and overtake you in the league and probably progress. perhaps ricay missed the boat last year which is a real shame. i really like ricay so hope they continue to push for promotion but i must say they are not reaching expectations at present.

Thanks for that link Ryan - one lives and learns.

But we must be realistic about this - the diocese includes Billericay for instance, so that's the number available for City games whittled down to 2,699,500 already. And it's only fair to assume that 2,550,000 of the remainder live closer to football clubs other than Chelmsford, so the true percentage turnout is around 1% of the total available - still not ideal I agree, but better than nothing I suppose.
