Evening Fellas. Just got home.

 

You'll hear 2 sides to the story but the Iron No 7 decided to push Craig Edwards whilst preventing a throw and all hell broke loose.

 

Whatever happens happens but the ref couldnt wait to get off while the players were warming up and ready to start again.

The referee's report would make interesting reading. The FA tends to look very badly on incidences where games are abandoned due to player conduct (or more accurately misconduct)....

yes it was chaos, i dont think i should put who it was who tripped robbie martin at this moment in time. but i see robbie after as he went out with a couple of stewards and he said he had a broken nose and he was off to hospital. an absoulute disgrace. this club offical has let chelmsford city, and the non league game!!!

Well the press will have a field day with this one. Like everything it will get blown up - But the biggest worry (predominantly) for chelmo will be the reaction from all the "new" supporters parents of young kids not wishing to watch fights in front of their offspring. Must have been pretty heavy for the ref to call the game off though.

What the ref should have done is red carded all 22 players, subs and managers. Fighting, throwing punches is generally a sending off offence. It seems bizarre that a 22-man brawl will end with no players being cautioned! Perfect result though, both teams kicked out.

1. The kids are learning how to behave, most of the have just seen games on TV up to now and they are getting better each game. No trouble from any of them and no reaction to the situation.

 

2. It wasnt heavy. Both sides calmed down fairly quickly and were warming up ready to play on. The ref just bottled it.

Rather than specualte why dont we just all wait for the refs report and accept the ramifications. What happnened after the "Fisher Hampton brawl". Fines for both clubs wasnt it????

 

Anyway back to ricay have you been making attempts to strengthen your squad. Anyone you can tell us about ??

Sean, I was not talking about those type of kids. I was talking about the parents who have young kids in tow and not wishing them to see that sort of on field antics. Still, it will all blow over.

Nothing will happen until the refs report goes into the Essex FA.

 

At that point im sure they will decide what the ramifications are.

 

Not a great advert for either club but as fans you can see how easily these things can happen. and whatever anyone says 95% of the incident was handbags and jostling.

95% handbags? Why did the ref walk off then? I've seen a couple of photos on your forum. One has Russ 'four hooves' Edwards with his fist clenched and looking for all the world like he might thrust his arm forward in an aggressive manner! Is there talk of a Braintree player with a broken nose as well?
