Impressive though our victory at Worthing was, I think performance of the week should go to an under strength Maldon who heroically defeated the mighty Chelmo at Fortress Melbourne. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/applaus.gif" alt="" />

From what I've read, it didn't exactly require a "performance of the week" to "heroically defeat" the Clarets yesterday.

 

BTW, I assume Maldon were at full strength when they beat YOU on your own patch, or was it the damn referee and linesmen to blame as usual?

nah, we were rubbish that day and Maldon were better.

And no BBB syndrome with me either - have been supporting the Clarets for almost 45 years now (watched them home and away up to 1984 when I moved up here), so I know better than to have any pretentions with regard to CCFC - just like to give them credit WHEN it's due (which unfortunately didn't include yesterday). Would love to see Maldon escape the drop, though I think they may have left it a tad late - Essex local derbies may be a little thin on the ground next season with Braintree and (maybe) Swifts getting promoted. But then neither of us would be too sad to see the back of Swifts would we?

Can't comment too much TC - I wasn't there. It appears there may be a bit of dissention in the camp that needs sorting out - QUICK. Jamie was the fan's hero a few weeks ago (you may recall the reason), but he didn't win many admirers yesterday.

Going by the reports on our forum, we were down to two men for most of the game, so I suppose a 2-1 reverse was not a bad result!
