Reserves had a nightmare evening on Wednesday. Took two and a half hours to get there, arriving only at 7.45 which left no time for any preparation. Dulwich were young and extremely quick around the pitch which was the last thing the WEFC players needed in the circumstances. Went 1-0 down after 30 minutes at which time, 16 year old Adam Spellman sustained a serious knee injury. WEFC conceded again on the stroke of half-time to a brilliant free-kick. Came out looking better in the second half and pulled one back through Dan Sascha and looked likely to get back level in a game which was becoming pretty uneventful all round. With 15 minutes to go, Omar Maqsood received a cut above the eye following a clash of heads, and WEFC were now playing with 10 men, having just made a double substitution. Two late goals gave the game an unreal result. Disappointing performance, below the usual standard. However, 18 year old Aran Taylor-Ives made a promising debut at centre-back.

Team: Gardiner; Spellman (Abbott 30); Sanford; Taylor-Ives (Turner 75); Dunlop; Blatchford (Davies 75); Walsh; Maqsood; Edgerley; Sascha; P. Holsgrove
