He's dead right. The transfer window is one of the most ridiculous rulings imposed on football at any level, but especially ours. Aren't they denying freedom of employment or whatever EU piece of small print by this?

I assume he will be a natural successor to Skins and Glozier, if they moves on, and Watkins if his loan isn't turned into a contract signing for next year.

Otherwise it would seem a rather pointless signing, albeit his pedigree is at least as good as, if not better than those he is being signed to replace.

I'm not complaining, Hirsty, just a little confused why we have signed yet another leftback/centre half to complement Skins, Watkins, Jacko, Ross Smith, Jamie Smith, Glozier, and McCarthy.

If he is to be a long term asset, I have absolutely no problem with that at all.

The best form of attack is defence, or should that be the other way round ?? Maybe we will play a 7-2-1 formation ? or even an 8-1-1 ?

 

I propose that the bar is kept open all the time.....then everyone is a winner :-

 

a) if it's freezing, like on tuesday, then people could warm up in the bar

 

if the game is crap...then people could go in the bar & watch Sky Soccer programme ( although I prefer the term "football" )

 

c) the club will make more money from bar takings !!

Why not turn the terrace into a giant bar, bullet proof glass, be warm ,drinking beer, and watching the game, if games crap just drink more <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/affig.gif" alt="" />

Though he can play in the centre, I imagine he's a long-term asset for only the Skins/Watkins/Glozier position. Mentioning the central defenders probably isn't applicable.

Let's face it, I imagine this is Skins' last season, Glozier's not good enough (IMO) and Watkins is OK, but what's the harm in signing a free player now who could slot in what is fast becoming a problem position.
