Tony Kempster's Forum SSML Content - Your Views

Er well the SSML is mentioned in there somewhere, I said it was a yawn and these anoraks never cease to amaze me with the stuff they come out with on the another site, they wouldn't last five minutes on here with you lot.

There does appear to be something wrong with it Gavin. In the United Counties League table, it shows Buckingham Town -3 after their midweek win!

This link to another Forum site may be of interest to some of you that someone has posted on another's Forum, it's not so anorakish (is that a word).

Aylesbury were top alphabeticaly and have now moved down to -1, if so its a pretty dumb way of having a table, Maybe Rhodes can tell us as he seems to go on their forum a lot.

There have been some exchanges on the another Forum about Message Boards/Forums and they are all singing Tony's praises for his Forum however I feel that our one is far better and I'm not just saying that. Tony's one is far too serious and for the real football anorak such as er what was the crowd at Dudley Town v Ludlow Town, whereas ours is more of a giggle such as Gavins antics, Lato's unfair vandetta against Takumi and the 'mad' Hertford Town contingent:

1. I've gone around to a few other message boards but I've never found one that has captured my interest like this one. I think this board was primed for success because it is an extension of Tony's already well-travelled site. I remember the first edition of the message board, which was a completely different format from present. Its success surprised everyone and Tony had to find a forum type that could cope with all the posting. Also, this board caters to a general interest. There really aren't many all-encompassing non-league boards out there. There are plenty for certain leagues and certain clubs, but the collection of people here has pretty much all the bases covered.

2. I only post on here occasionally but do tend to view the posts of others every day. I find this forum to be the best source of information in 'filling the gaps' or providing answers to questions that arise from the lack of information presented about non-league football elsewhere. For example when league tables show new or re-named teams betwen seasons, or clubs go bust etc, you can guarantee that within a couple of days someone will have raised the question here and an answer will be generally be provided by others. For those of us who follow the non-league game and like to keep records/statistics, it is irritating to see the lack of detail or inaccuracy elsewhere (often from 'official' sources). Also I find that other message boards too often degenerate into slanging matches between individual posters, and it gets tiring wading through all that dross to find anything of interest. Here on the other hand there is a decent and respectful standard of communication maintained. Finally it is nice simply to see other people being interested in the same things, when for years friends and family have thought I was a weird and obsessive creature because I had less interest in so-called 'proper' league football!

If you deem my 'vendetta' to be 'unfair' which it isn't as i am just stating what I've seen of the player (read my posts Rhodes) then I think you should included your ridiculous and over the top championing of a player and your incessant hyperbole.

Why are we mad?

another's forum IS the best around, covering all areas of non-league from around the country. Why should people who read it or post on there be considered anoraks?

I notice you have a few posts on there Rhodes <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Lato - Yes you've seen him play twice, on both occasions he had a poor game and it's somewhat unfair to judge a player like that. Look at Friday for example, Rak said he came on as substitute on Friday at Horsham, probably in the last minute of the game, and scored a 30 yard volley. HTFCew - I have only posted on the another site to spread the gospel about our Forum and the SSML in general, I had to reach for the matchsticks when I read some of the posts on there so I can't agree with you that it's the best thing since sliced bread.

That still makes you an "anorak" by your own criteria.

Both the another site and the Fans Focus site are very good but, if push comes to shove, Kempster's site would just shade it for me. It is much more informative whereas this site does have some useful information but is generally a more light-hearted area. Both sites serve a purpose in those respects.

By the way, I did warn you several weeks ago that you get a large number of idiots on the Fans Focus site. There are many more "BewareofRHODEntS" type characters around out there. Good to see Ian W take action for once but I don't think you help yourself with this incessant nonsense about how wonderful Kentish Town are and how great a player Takumi "Domino" Ake is. Nobody really believes it, apart from you, and it becomes irritating after a while. Different people will become irritated in different ways as you have seen with your (now banned) nemesis. (Surprised to see she was a female, incidentally).

So Rhodes, if its unfair to judge Domino on two poor games, is it fair to judge him on one wonder goal?

HTFCew - Well you are aren't you, no seriously there are so many of you whereas all the other SSML Club's are just represented by one fan or player, it seems a little unfair that's all particularly when you all gang up such as with our wonder goal at your place and not giving it the credit it deserved. Potters Bar Town - Well yes you did warn me about idiots on here however there was a worrying sinister side to BewareofRhodents and it was in all our best interests to have him, sorry her, banned which I succeeded in doing (donations gratefully received made out to Kentish Town FC). You disappointingly indicate in your post that there was (past tense) some sort of connection between the crazy meaningless posts and my 'incessant nonsense' about Kentish Town and Takumi and I disagree on both counts. BewareofRhodents appeared to have no interest or knowledge of the beautiful game which makes me think I was just picked out at random, secondly how would you know how good Kentish Town are this season if you haven't seen them play, the 8-2 scoreline last Wednesday spoke for itself and we played just as well yesterday without scoring the goals. Also if the good people on here don't realise what a class act Takumi is then frankly I'm disappointed, he continues to mesmorise defences week in week out and score in virtually every game either from volleys 30 yards out like on Friday or by beating the whole team, Maradonna v England '86 style, like at your place in that friendly.

Oh dear Rhodes..you've picked another personal bug-bear of mine, the fat boys 'goal' v England in 1986. Admittedly I laughed as it knocked England out but in fact all he does is beat a tired Terry Fenwick twice (which probably even Domino could do) having outpaced Peter Reid. Also I still think its Terry Butcher who gets the final touch and its an Oggie..not a view shared by many other than journalist Patrick Barclay. I therefore don't think its the best goal of all time just that once again the British media vote it as such because it was against England and as we all know England can only lose to cheats or wonder goals. personally I think Maradona's effort v Belgium in the semi final was better. As for the best goal I've ever seen well Domino's two penalties v Manor last year were well struck!!!
