Town 0-2 Rothwell

Recommended Posts

After the Lord Mayors show of last week came the man with the bucket and spade this week!

45 minutes of playing high balls against tall players - dumb or what?

45 minutes of playing balls along the ground in long grass which never got there cos Brimo have pi**ed the groundsman off by playing to many teams (6) on the pitch. One for the Inner Circle to sort me thinks!

Was Tom Mills (the goal scorer - 2 out of 2 chances) a squad regular at Rothwell or loaned in on a temporary contract?

Ricci Crace fouled in the box but no penalty. How many penalties has Bryan missed this season out of how many? I think it must be 2 out of 2. Anyone care to correct me?

Every time we play Rothwell pirates they have a cunning plan and they do a number on us! We just aren't clever enough to beat their cunning plan Brutus.

I left as soon as Brian stood up and took the penalty. Didnt want to watch it as it was only going one way. Never seen him take a penalty to the left but i may be wrong. Something tells me not buying a season ticket was a good thing as it might be in the bin now. We cant use the England match as a excuse for the crowd. Lets be honest why would be people throw £7 away to watch us.

You know its bad when your son bets you a fiver that Hammett would miss the penalty!

I stupidly said your on, cue silly jumping around scenes as I handed him his fiver!

Why didnt Rudi take the pen, thats two taken two missed this season, the mind boggles.

It also must be time for JC to take a long look at his position after that performance, and when you lower yourself to hurling opinions at loyal paying supporters its got to be a case of.....

"Thanks very much, Good luck in the future"

Not only is Hammett now totally immuned from being subbed/dropped, now he is captain. He also excesizes the devine right to step up and take penalties, even though he knows he has one of the best penalty takers EVER,standing next to him.

I know he probably thought.'I'm the captain,i'll stand up and take responsability for putting the penalty away, but he would have shown greater leadership by handing the ball to Rudi.

It summed up another dreadfull home performance. Most of the crowd had walked by the time the final whistle blew.

Gazza - there wasn't another town fan in the ground who could not have had the same thought as you son going through their head. There was no gasp of surprise. Next time I see a dead cert I'll come and bet you a £5 note - make up for that dodgy 50:50 ticket you sold me!

Ricci Crace is a striker and yet wasn't allowed to work in front of goal in preference to Bryan - What is that all about? Accept it is time to let a real striker like Ricci do the business or go!

To date I have been reluctant to consider this but I agree it is Sunday morning and I've had time to reflect. If the manager can't do the business in significant matches maybe it is time to look for one who can whilst there are a few fans left willing to pay the £7? The fans are voting with their feet. There is no Mr big to underwrite a failing club only a not so wealthy inner circle. Our club our problem.

I STILL THINK THE BOARD(Inner Circle) SHOULD START LOOKING FOR A REPLACEMENT FOR MR C . HE HAS TAKEN OUR CLUB AS FAR AS HE CAN, We all know that deep down. PUTTING MR H senior in charge would not be an Improvement as such ,As our "star striker" would stll be captain and still be in ahead of better players that sit on the bench . It makes you wonder just how much this is going to go on for. Is Mr C our manager because he is liked and is personally palsy walsy with the board. Andy Leese would be an Ideal candidate . Sorry if my comments upset some of you but thats how I feel .LET DOWN.

The England match is always a factor lancey. A lot of non league clubs have this .England should be more considerate and play at night like 8pm.

The other week i said in the Gazette that I was somewhere in the middle on the should he stay or go argument. Well yesterdays performance and our dwindling crowds have firmly shoved me into the go side of things and I plan to say as much in my article.

I think its time for Jim to go before there is no one left to tell him to go.

Jim said in the local press that he would leave if he didn't get Town into at least a play-off place this season.Whilst we are still in the running,he should stay.If a play-off place looks unobtainable at any stage this season.Jim will no doubt step aside.I'm still in two minds.Jim has the ability to bring in great players to the club on a regular basis, but his man management, tactical awareness and team formations seem to be on a downward spiral.

I find myself agreeing with Enfield T.

I dont think that changing the manager is the answer to Town's problems. Part of the problem is finance and there is no answer to that but continue to dip our hands in our pockets. There is the possibility that we would be better if Hammat was not so iron clad that he cant be subbed/dropped but if anybody really believes that swapping Hammat for Hughes/Ritchie instead of Valandia/Campbell would have made any difference yesterday saw a different game to me.

JC has set his target and the board appear to agree. The way that Town are playing at the moment if the play - offs are really his target he oould be gone by christmas. The season will be half way over by then and the new manager will have 21 games to build the team for next season.

I for one can wait.

I agree with steph, but i do not think we should leave the decision re a new manager too much longer. Moving on to Brian, although Brian works very hard up front I REALLY DO NOT THINK HE IS THE MAN to partner Ricci Crace upfront. How many times have supporters and even Jim, at the end of last season, said we need a big centre forward upfront. That was one of the main reasons we did not go up to Ryman Prem last year. I am very disapointed in yesterdays performance as I consider it was probably our worst performance of the season so far, and I must say I have not seen so many supporters leave a Town game before the end of a game since we formed. Please something has to be done before our crowd drops even further.

Steph, unfortunately I was at Ruislip but I still consider yesterday was worse as we were at home, and playing on a better pitch than Ruislips and playing a team at our level. As you know teams from lower levels always raise their games.

I did not see Town supporters leaving early at the Ruislip game!
