Err it wasnt us who couldnt fill a coach to Slough Bustingup.gif

We had at least 250 at Rugby and we preserved our revenue stream Victory.gif

So your club "account" for a cup run for a revenue stream? How can you account for something that can't be quantified or projected? Very dangerous thing to do Dill....

So 250 people, well done...how many people did you know on fist name terms? How many people knew you on first name terms?

About 30 , but the it's a lot easier to know 22 people than 250 mock.gif titanic_opt_16.gif

"So your club "account" for a cup run for a revenue stream? How can you account for something that can't be quantified or projected? Very dangerous thing to do Dill...."

Our FD, Adrian Neale simply factored into his cash flow forecast an assumption that we would reach the 4th qualifying round of the FA Cup which, as it transpired, is precisely what has come to pass. So full marks to Adrian for his accurate forecasting in this regard!

As we accountants know, the fact that a given variable may be difficult to quantify does not preclude the preparation of forecasts and budgets based upon the most likely scenarios....

The important factor in any budget or forecast is realism rather than, say, the adoption of a "worst case scenario" policy such as Adrian being ultra-conservative by assuming an exit from the competition at the first hurdle. i.e. targets must be adequate if they are to be properly used as a yardstick by which to monitor actual performance....

But then, surely, making a forcast or relying on cash won from a cup run is gambling with company accounts...?

Many companies make forcasts based on their products, their admin costs and future plans to expand (which are based on market projections)...few would rely on an "intangable"...which, at the start of a season, a good F A Cup run would be....

Dear me, I think on a financial level, Chelmsford can breath a sign of relief...

There are many unknowns for "companies" when they budget. The value of sterling, the likely level of interest rates, competitor activity and so on but none of these should preclude realistic budget preparation based upon defined assumptions. If a sales director said to his chairman something along of "I'm sorry I haven't prepared a Sales Budget for next year, CJ, but I've no idea abouut the value of sterling, the likely level of interest rates, competitor activity...." I'm sure CJ will quickly be commencing the recruitment process....

Gazza,

All clubs have limited financial budget which needs to be managed and predicted. Billericay are no different from us are they?

Do you really and honestly think the directors of CCFC would put all in jeopardy after all they have done to bring us home????.. on a few results.

Do you really think that a club which has mainly Conference players can't afford to take them on and budget accordingly?

Do you really think CCFC are in financial problems that we are relient on any particular competition or result?

The directors are looking to improve MP without any impact on the playing budget whatsoever, regardless of who comes and goes (squad of 20). How many clubs can do that? I bet not Billericay for sure.............as has been stated on here, with improvement, the fan base will increase and more income will be generated...agreed?

Only I cannot see where your fan base can be increased when you have a constant attendance regardless of how well you do??.........( we wont mention your away support.Another conversation another time)

No more statements about our finances unless you comsume and interogate the actual facts of the business concerned and have access to the spread sheets....1st rule of accountancy and the 2nd is that financial directors are NEVER happy people...it goes with the job!!!!....I'm married to one........

Locofan. You've answered a lot of questions there that were never asked. If I understand Gazza correctly his point was quite simple. IE.. that, if you've budgeted to reach the 4RQ, then it's a good job you made it! I don't think anyone was suggesting it would be disasterous if you'd failed. Just that it would require some "adjustment" elsewhere to accomodate the resultant reduction in revenue. Or maybe it wouldn't, if there was some unexpected income from, say, selling more Burgers than forecast!

You also say:-

Getting a bit tiresome this. Just look at a map. There's plenty of potential BTFC supporters out there. And your premise regarding constant attendance is just plain wrong.

Ahhhhhh, facts...strange one that local fan, strange as there are many that would presume to know ours...

Now read my post...I was questioning Dill The Dog's errr.....Income stream...And as Peter Foster psoted "Our FD, Adrian Neale simply factored into his cash flow forecast an assumption that we would reach the 4th qualifying round of the FA Cup which, as it transpired, is precisely what has come to pass. So full marks to Adrian for his accurate forecasting in this regard!"...and full marks for predicting it? Buggering 'ell...I would put that down as gambling...

Where did I say you had financial problems?

Where did I say you were not improving MP...actually, I hope the council approves your plans for the ground as does it not belong to them?

Oh and did you stay to the end of the game on Saturday? Felt that the team you "support" was worthy for your support for the full 90 minutes?

Ryan C. that is very cruel!!!

Please explain how I am wrong over your attendances... the attendance record speaks for its self...see the Rymans own figures...only just increasing to a massive 400 or so by visiting teams.....( Not really tiresome, just because you do not like to write about it, I can understand this......)

5 games Lowest 351 most 403 average 384 How is this not constant attendances ?????

2005/2006 you averaged 548 with Afc visiting to drag your numbers up...and us of course

You cannot even get a coach out for an away match on a Saturday....see Dillingers post above speaks volumes......

As for comment on my support..I'm there each match are you!!!....no I didn't think so!

You're wrong because they are not constant regardless of performance. When we're doing well they go up, considerably. So far this season we haven't had a consistant run of good performances. It's not rocket science. Dills post doesn't speak volumes. It takes the piss, which is fair enough. And I think you'll find the question mark over your support was due to a post you made on the Soapbox to the effect that you left your Sudbury game early in disgust.

I bet Dill The Dog and Local Fan's conversation is "My Dad is bigger than yours"...

"As for comment on my support..I'm there each match are you!!!....no I didn't think so!" Is this guy for real???? How little he knows me...And before you ask, I stay until the final whistle...every game. Start commenting on things YOU do know about because you don't know dick about football contracts, you don't know dick about your club, you don't know dick about Billericay Town and you don't dick about me...That limits your prattlings to about the level of your intelligence...which is nothing.

HA HA HA .....Gazza you've totally lost the arguement because you haven't got the vocabulary to win an arguement...we can all edit posts to make us look better....the few people who post on here must be groaning at your comments to fellow football fan......you really do not have a clue buddy do you...and you call me a chav!!!!

At least Rik can argue reasonably without abuse and obviously considerable knowledge about Billericay.....go on be more abusive..really really try........HA HA
