An enjoyable game of footie was watched by a dissapointing gate of 30 last night. Stortford came out looking very strongand Byford in goal pulled off a great early save. Our first goal was a wicked deflection from a Dave Hunt shot but at least we were seeing guys in a Town shirt having a shot rather than trying to walk the ball into the goal. Town grew in confidence and, get this, WE PLAYED IT ON THE DECK FOR MUCH OF THE GAME. Kojo looked great on the flank but Ritchie and Smith still looked a bit short of top match fitness. Jim seemed very pleased and in particular the fact that the lads played to instructions whcih the firsts did not on Tuesday. Byfield in goal looked good throughout and Kojo will surely be in the first 11 very soon. If this is the way the ressies will play then I urge more of you to get down to watch them.

 

On another positive note. You can buy bottles of Old SPeckeld Hen and Spitfire for £1.50 and the grub smelled very good too so it is looking up at half time!

No issues with the penalty - one player mugged by two defenders!

Half time bar staff - excellent and trust worthy. I have now found my true vocation!

Andy was right! There was a debate as to whether the new decimal pound should be the equivalent of ten shillings or 20 shillings. As it was the twenty shillings won.

 

What fascinates me is why do we still have the 1p it is now worth less than the farthing when that was abolished.
