Disappointing to go out, but not the end of the world. Could have been a nice little cup run.

 

We were all over them in the first 20 minutes, well worth the 1-0 lead. Gave away what looked like a very scrappy goal, couldnt really see what happened from where i was.

 

Second half they started playing much better football (theyd shown almost nothing in the 1st half), and we were outplayed. Their winner came from a long ball which was taken down and finished very well.

 

Disappointing to lose at home, lets hope it wouldnt have been a plum draw in the next round.

 

Time to concentrate on the league then!

Well done to Mangots. They WANTED it, some of our players DID NOT. Their goalkeeper did not even make a save !! No excuses from me...Dont put ball in net dont win games..Dont get stuck in = Not competing..Good luck Mangots, as they did their job today.

Listen local, we were poor today..Stop giving it the large about attendances. The people who run our club deserve more from our players..The tireless helpers who are in the background deserve more, and the hardcore of fans deserve more.

<img src="/forum/images/graemlins/afro.gif" alt="" /> The crowd issue seems to be affecting clubs across the board , in recent seasons Ricky would have pulled 5-600 for todays game , we are struggling to build on our hardcore support of around the 650 mark and we are going well in the league , perhaps people just dont have the money ?

I slightly disagree with Keith

 

In the first half we were completely dominant but we lacked quality where it counts and that is hardly a new observation. We elected to go very young centrally at the back and that cost us a bad goal.

 

They improved a lot second half and their second goal was well taken but we still missed our chances.

 

It's results that count and we don't count for much at the moment.

Sorry for poking my nose in, but maybe it has something to do with the fact that many pubs are ditching Sky (£1,400 a month ex VAT), for the Al Jazeerer channel (£1,000 a year) and they are showing live Prem games on a Saturday afternoon.
Does not bode well for the non-league game.
Not a HX fan, but look at their last two attendances. Midweek and Flackwell Heath 88 and yesterday local trip to Witham and only 133. I know the weather was somewhat indeterminate, but seems like a sign of the times.
I thought the clubs and government were fighting against live televised games kicking off at 3pm. Perhaps now there should be a meeting of minds and put a stop to it before the rot sets in... <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/angry.gif" alt="" />

24/7 shopping is good for some but not good for others,the last thing i want to do is go shopping after a day in the office!!!

you only had to see the state of the m25 towards lakeside yesterday morning to realise that the place is chocka block for the next few saturdays,always the same every saturday this time of year.
