QUIZ NIGHT / SPONSORED WALK

Recommended Posts

The Supporters Club are hosting a quiz night on Friday, 7th February, start 7:30 pm. Everybody welcome, further details will be posted here nearer the date.

There is also a sponsored walk to Boreham Wood starting at 11:00 am on Saturday, 15th February. The aim is to raise £2,000 which will include a donation to the Grove House Hospice at the City hospital. Again, all are welcome and sponsorship forms are available either from Ian Rogers (tel 07714 145862) or at the club shop during the next two home games.

  • 3 weeks later...

I suspect that the number of walkers and, thus, the amount raised will be severely depleted, possibly to zero in each case, if, for example, the game is called off due to inclement weather on Friday.

Fortunately the weather forecast is good.

Will you be walking long-time watcher, first time user, Palomino? Rob?

The Herts Ad are now going to be doing an article on it and will be sending a photograhper down the park to get a picture before we set off. That should hopefully be in the following weeks paper with all detials of money raised etc etc.

Not heard form The Observer yet though!

Hi Saintsfans everywhere.

Which of the following applies to you:

a). I would rather let someone else do the work. However, I won't let The Club down so put me down for £1.

B). Woood? That must be 8 or 9 miles. No time to get in training. I'm no Titus Oakes ["I'm going out and I may not be back for a while"] Good luck to the rest of you, though. Put me down for £1.

c). I'm up for that. It will be a laugh.

Hendon copied our idea last year and 40 fans walked to The Woood. A couple of weeks ago, 50 fans walked to somewhere from Barking & East Ham or whatever they're called.

So. How many Saints fans will do it. 8 miles? A walk in the park.

Rob. Be there. Bring that chap who pretends to be your brother. Bring a friend.

Quite right, GHA. Titus Oakes left the tent saying "I'm going out and I may not be back for a while" and went off to his death in order that his companions could continue their walk to the pole.

Once upon a time, I thought that was truly noble but now that the end of my youth is approaching, I am beginning to have my doubts.

Yes it was on Scott's expedition. That's Captain Scott, not Scott Oakes. It's just a coincidence that the names Scott and Oakes appear in the story. Our Scott was playing lead guitar in Showaddywaddy at the time before he left the band to play for Luton.

Rob. An appointment? In Hemel? Saturday?

Priorities Rob. Committment mate. The Fellowship of The Ring. Elves, Dwarfs, Men, Hobbits and Saintsfans.

I'm having fresh thoughts about Titus Oakes. Never mind, Rob. For every one who lets the side down, a dozen will step forward to take his/her place.
