Can anyone recommend to me any of the following...

 

• A decent book about Pink Floyd
• A decent book about Jimi Hendrix
• A decent book about Jim Morrison

Reading a book about Mark Chapman - John Lennon's killer - at the moment. Very interesting.

Talking of books, does anyone know where you can get copies of out of print books. I'm trying to get hold of the first book written by Paolo Hewitt about Oasis called ''Getting High- The story of Oasis'' (or something like that)

St Albans Library definitely has a copy of it, cos I took it out a couple of years ago.

abebooks are excellent for out of print/secondhand/any books that you can't find anywhere else, and from my experience all of their sellers are very prompt. You can even pay by cheque if you want to!

It's not much use to you CZ but I'd recommend Rotten by John Lydon (i.e Johnny Rotten). A great read. Also 45 by Bill Drummond(KLF) is a pretty good laugh.

There are some great stories about KLF - the dead sheep, burning £1m in notes etc.

 

Is the book an autobiography??

Well sort of, not in the sense of I was born in Stirling, son to blah,blah but more like a random collection of short stories,like the burning of £1m etc.Supposedly all true. there isn't much musical content though, just tales about driving around the M25 and creating a bass note so low that it killed a cow! Not that i approve of animal cruelty, it wasn't deliberate I'm sure.
