I see that Holmer Green supremo Jason Weinrabe has made a couple of signings including highly regarded midfielder Dave Allen from local football who I believe made his bow at St Margaretsbury this afternoon:

This was posted on another thread referring to an Under 18's match, perhaps Kentish Town should make a similar announcement.

An anorak on another's Forum was at Watchet Lane last Saturday and makes an interesting prediction:

SSMLP Holmer Green 0 Aylesbury Vale 2

Adm 5 quid. Prog 1 quid.

Not a classic by any means. Holmer had a great chance well saved on 10 minutes, on 18 Luke Miceli opened the scoring for Vale after two attempts to clear, two minutes later Corbould added a second and it looked like it would be a rout. Holmer fought back but lacked a cutting edge. Seocnd half the game tapered off, bar one attempt-which forced the Vale keeper into a terrific tip over the bar.

In the Holmer programme the chairman has some strong words to say about ground grading. If I had it to hand I would quote from it, suffice to say don't expect to see Holmer Green in the South Midlands League next season.

An excellent win for Holmer Green at Biggleswade Town who must have still been deflated after their FA Vase defeat at Whitby on Saturday:

An interesting final comment from an anorak on another's Forum, I wonder who that was:

Spartan South Midlands Premier Division

Biggleswade Town 0 Holmer Green 2 att.45(h/c)

5-00 admission

1-00 programme

With the wind driving down the pitch, Biggleswade failed to take advantage in the first half, but HG fared much better in the second and took the lead when a shot was deflected in, maybe an own goal, but scored an excellent second goal on the break, which was their first win in the league for months (according to the programme info).

Decent ground, mobile burger van.

Unfortunately one 'Jobsworth' who was a complete [****!!****].

i would lay odds on it being one of two people

Further to the Jobsworth comment someone has narrowed it down to two people but I think everyone knows perfectly well who it was.

I wonder what the 'Jobsworth' did to upset the 'Groundhopper' though, that's the last thing you do when these people come to visit as it's a real privilege and nothing is too much trouble.

Without wanting to state the obvious but I guess his Job. Anyhow surely the above-mentioned 'Groundhopper' is more an 'anorak' is he not confused

I'm just curious to know who at the Club the Groundhopper is referring to that's all and what the 'Jobsworth' did to upset him, he sounded genuinely upset and annoyed.
