Tostao / Goodwin any truth?? n/t

I'm sorry to grumble (no doubt it will upset some on here) but as Andy Y. has pointed out this is an OPEN FORUM.

With all due respect to the Club and the hard working officials behind the scenes, is this not a prime example of what many of us grumble about on here about communication to the fans?

Tostao was a fairly popular figure amongst the fans due to his flair on the pitch (an entertainer if you like).

The point is - either give us the full scoop or none whatsoever. In the interim period, the fans are left to stew, waiting for further details about Tostao's departure - possibly at the manager's forum or in the Club programme etc. Under these circumstances why bother making any such announcement on the Tostao situation?

By giving us only half the story i.e. his left due to breach of club discipline - this only leads to further speculation and uncertainty.

I really miss Andy Fords frequent postings on here providing updates on developments - although I appreciate he has commitments beyond the Football Club. However, is there not some scope for getting the new Chief Executive to post monthly updates on here, explaining in greater detail then you get on the back of the Reporter about why certain decisions have been made and general news affecting the football club, such as possible new signings, updates on player injuries or even new sponsorship deals.

It is an open Forum Jim, but that doesn't mean that everything should be made public.

If you were dismissed from your job for some non-job related misdeamenor, how would you feel if you employer then broadcast to all and sundry why.

It was important to know whether Tostao's leaving was related to his playing ability or not, but beyond that, it is really something between the club and the player.

I don't think you can compare the two things dave, this is a football club,we are the fans providing money for the club for it to exist,so in this case we are similar to the "executives" in the company, and surely they have a right to know what's going on...

Fair point, but what we're trying to say is without supporters there isn't a club..so we feel the club should be more open, maybe not in this instance though,i think the forum tommorow is definitely a step forward though. <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Again the customer analogy applies, if no one shopped at ASDA it would exist, but I don't need to know why they sacked a member of staff.

I'm sorry, but I really do believe that this sort of thing has to remain confidential between employer and (former) employee. We would all like to know what goes on, but to think that we have a right to know is a step to far IMO.

You may get more information at the Forum, but I suspect that you will be disappointed.
