Yes, lots of truth.
Brief details are now on the News page
Tostao breaching club discipline? Can we get any more information on what actually happened, i mean what he actually did wrong?
Not at this time Gordon, whether the club intends to make a statement later I don't know.
Actually that's not entirely correct, I believe that Andy has written something in his notes for the next programme, but I don't know what he has said.
I'm sorry to grumble (no doubt it will upset some on here) but as Andy Y. has pointed out this is an OPEN FORUM.
With all due respect to the Club and the hard working officials behind the scenes, is this not a prime example of what many of us grumble about on here about communication to the fans?
Tostao was a fairly popular figure amongst the fans due to his flair on the pitch (an entertainer if you like).
The point is - either give us the full scoop or none whatsoever. In the interim period, the fans are left to stew, waiting for further details about Tostao's departure - possibly at the manager's forum or in the Club programme etc. Under these circumstances why bother making any such announcement on the Tostao situation?
By giving us only half the story i.e. his left due to breach of club discipline - this only leads to further speculation and uncertainty.
I really miss Andy Fords frequent postings on here providing updates on developments - although I appreciate he has commitments beyond the Football Club. However, is there not some scope for getting the new Chief Executive to post monthly updates on here, explaining in greater detail then you get on the back of the Reporter about why certain decisions have been made and general news affecting the football club, such as possible new signings, updates on player injuries or even new sponsorship deals.
It is an open Forum Jim, but that doesn't mean that everything should be made public.
If you were dismissed from your job for some non-job related misdeamenor, how would you feel if you employer then broadcast to all and sundry why.
It was important to know whether Tostao's leaving was related to his playing ability or not, but beyond that, it is really something between the club and the player.
I would say that a better analogy would be customers, as we are paying for a product which is "entertainment" on a saturday afternoon.
Fair point, but what we're trying to say is without supporters there isn't a club..so we feel the club should be more open, maybe not in this instance though,i think the forum tommorow is definitely a step forward though. <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
Does it really matter Andy obviously gave Tostao more than one opportunity for god sake the bloke buggered off to Ireland to stitch us up last year or had we all forgotten that
I agree Dave, thus the "maybe not in this instance though".
As for the forum,we might not get what we want but it is better than nothing...
Well I'm not over-disappointed about the departure of him.
He still isn't the footballing god that certain people thought he was - btw he was crap in his limited cameo appearances this season.....
Still.....it will save me being slagged off for criticising the player!
I liked him as a player but he never quite recovered his old self after the Irish incident. Still think it's a shame to see him go but then again Rob Owen has been making Tosty's part of the pitch his own recently, and Rob can tackle as well.
Lol, Yes Rob Owen knows how to defend, always a good thing!
Tostao was a bloody nice man to talk to that part I will miss but as was said earlier he was never the same after the Ireland incident I wish him all the best for whatever the future holds for him.
