NEWS, RESULTS, TABLES & STATISTICS

FOOTBALL: ROCKY FACED WITH FARNBOROUGH KNOCK-OUT
Farnborough Town manager Graham Westley has put former Luton Town striker Rocky Baptiste on the transfer list.

Westley is believed to be paving the way for a major signing by placing Baptiste, who scored 11 goals in 22 games last season, on the list.

Westley said: "Anybody would love to have Rocky in their line-up when he's flying, but I haven't been able to hit the right buttons with him constantly."

Any interest for us ??

If I know GW he is going to want a potful of money, as a contribution to the let's find a new ground fund.

I imagine Farnborough will move into Airdrie's ground shortly , or ground share at Selhurst Park .

I suggest we sign Rocky Balboa instead in case we get drawn away to Canvey or Hendon in the Cup.

Funny you should say that. I was lying awake at 3 am this morning thinking about the Wimbledon - Milton Keynes move. Fancy having to drive 70 miles to see a home game!
Imagine if other clubs decided to move area what strange combinations there could be. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="images/icons/shocked.gif" />

Hey GN Tyke , nothing wrong with driving 70 miles to see a home game . I do 120 miles each way about 15 times a season .

Sorry!! That's not what I really meant. It's like how can you move your home team to a ground that's 70 miles away? How can you be Wimbledon if your grounds in Milton Keynes? It's like having Stonebridge Road in Calais!
I think I'm rambling!

Can't remember where I read it (maybe on CEEFAX) But a group of Wimbledon supporters have applied to the Ryman league for a new Wimbledon to enter the league at the old Plough Lane ground

You're right John M - I saw that as well - they have until 17 June to have a fully formed club and ground, etc.

apparently the Ryman currently only have 88 clubs, but the FA put it in ntheir constitution that it could be 92, so they have the space for them.

Can they really get organised in 2 weeks, though ?? Unlikely, I would have thought ?? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="images/icons/smile.gif" />
