Jay Conroy- Defender - Young and was finding his feet at Conf National level. Had a few starts towards the end of the season. Young, good prospect and will do well at your level.

Ben Chenerey-Defender - Experienced, love him or hate him but always seemed committed - again will do well at your level. Very vocal as captain.

Chris Duffy- Midfield - Experienced - whether you'll getthe best out of him depends on where Jeff plays him and what formation Jeff goes along with.

Steve Ward- Defender - Wardy is God! but he won't score any goals for you Just shout "shoot" when he gets the ball.

Still hurts to think that Wardy won't be playing in the famous Yellow shirt next season!

All good signings, I'm sure they will form the back bone of your team.

Conroy was looking a good prospect at the end of the season and the others will give you 100%.
You have 3 of my favourites in there!
Will have to change my favourite players selection!

Top class signings for Chelmsford City, all of whom I am sure will do very well there.

Great experience from Wardy, Chenners and Duffers will add greatly to what I am sure is going to be a very good season for Chelmsford and with the emergence towards the end of last season of Jay Conroy as a player of quality at Conference level (after being released by Crystal Palace) I am sure that Chelmsford City have much to look forward to but I still find it hard to take in that those players will not be at Canvey come the new season, mores the pity...

All the best to all 4 of them. I imagine they will do rather well at Chelmsford.

i think they will do, we have all seen them play at the top of non-league football and we all know that they can do it.

To be perfectly honest, I definately was not surprised to see Duffy and Chenery sign, fully expected it actually.

Wardy, raised an eyebrow, but he's experiencd and will do well at that level. Despite his age he still has the pace.

Certainly surprised at Conroy though, but he can definately cut it at a higher level if needed. Would've thought Sutton would've come knocking for him again though

Good luck to all four of them in their future endeavours.

Where's Jeff Minton?

The full report went on to say we expected to agree 2 more signings before the weekend but the players were away on the Middlesex Wanderers tour.

Have you got any other players on that that you know of !!

I dunno who's on the Middlesex Wanderers tour, but seeing as those four players were Canvey's main back four at one point last season:

(R-L) Conroy - Ward - Chenery - Duffy

I would've thought Jeff Minton would definately turn up.

I really hope Jason Hallet dosen't join Chelmsford..

For him to drop leagues now would be a big mistake after making such a good impact in the conference last year..

He could easily play league football with the right experience and coaching

Good Luck Jason!

I can`t see Minton going to Chelmsford, he must have had offers from other Conference clubs.

That's Chelmsford's left side filled then!

Farmer Jon is another who could probably walk into most Conf South sides.
