team news coming to you shortly sidders....its a nice day in maldon and the locals are out in force clapping and cheering the urchin supporters as they march through the pretty little market town in their thousands bedecked in red and white...pubs are doing a roaring trade and its a carnival atmosphere...

local police so far report no arrests although treeboy has been cautioned for stealing a traffic cone... grin

apparently garry hill was spotted in a local pub but he only stayed for 5 minutes....no change there then and in another celebrity sighting near the towns cattle market amy winehouse was spotted in her red and white scarf.... applause grin

couple of hundred in the ground already 5 minutes before kick off and the pitch appears in excellent condition, could be a problem in the first half with the sun shining very strongly into someones eyes... not many Maldon fans around it would seem and strangely enough there are several high grassy knolls inside the ground which I thought was against the grading rules but waddaweknow about these matters..

teams are now walking out with maldon attired in blue and white hoops and the urchins in their as yet unbeaten 'cup final' strip...

your referee for today me simon essex is clad for the occasion in yellow polka dots with orange trim.... grin
