Just looked on the ebbsfleet forum and there are proposals for a new stadium on there.

Suddenly,because they won the trophy(and deservedly so) they are talking about a new stadium.Don't get me wrong,stonebridge road is a hole and although the ebbsfleet fans will no doubt tell us,at least it don't have a running track round it yawn yawn.

New stadiums are all well and good and perhaps ebbsfleet need one but stating on their forum that the main stand will hold between 5-8'000 seats(on top of that they are talking about 3 side being terracing,how big dow they want this ground????) in it seems a bit rich and hopeful seeing as their attendances,although higher than they were the season before last due to obvious reasons,are hardly attendances of top conference sides.Stands with 5-8'000 seats are for championship sides at worst,even premiership sides.Am i the only one here thinking that maybe their trophy success has deluded them,after all,grays won the thing twice on the trot and they struggle to get more than 800 most conference games

PS with dartford,margate,ramsgate,maidstone,tonbridge and dover all in the ryman prem,will this maybe mean that the kent non league fraternity actually turn their back on our prestigious cousins from bram stokers heartland????

Ebbsfleet are an established conference side now.

If they harbour ambitions of league football, then they need to get a better place to play, in order to make the most revenue they can....

 

it's a gamble, but there is nothing wrong with a bit of ambition

yeah but fly by night ideas are all too commonplace and their fan base is hardly the same as tteams like oxford,its ok taking 25'000 to wembley for a play off final but those fans couldn't be bothered to go to most of the league games
