Lets All Look Up The Word "Support".

Well, aren't we all demanding? Lack of effort, idling around, no leadership...If you were a player, you could almost cast those accusations at the supporters.

If I was a player yesterday, I would ask the question, where was the support? The encouraging noises from the crowd, the singing and chanting...Hang on...that was the Clacton supporters!!!

Taking on board what has been said here, I think we as a club have a lot to learn from FC Clacton regarding support and "getting behind the team". I know some of you will criticise me (even insult me and maybe just think me mad)because I have the audacity to say this but our opponents reaction to their teams performance and the result was one some people who call themselves supporters should learn from. The "bodiless" voices from those that are brave enough to whine, moan and abuse players around the ground but not brave enough to stand up and put their point over (if some of the "moans" can be considered a point of veiw, which I doubt) personally is not support, IMO. If that is why you pay your admission then I think you should consider some therapy. It does not only effect the players performance, the managers immpressions of us but also depressess the [****!!****] out of those few who help out at the club. Some of us are beginning to wonder perhaps we should just give over and let the "lunatics" take over the "asylum". But we won't, because we think to much of the club and those that genuinely support the club...why should we give up our enjoyment for the few that appear to enjoy pointing out the perceived (in their collective opinions) failings of certain players, management and the club and haven't the where with all (or balls) to do anything about it!!!

We all have a club which I believe is a good club. It's had its ups and downs. It's a club ripe with potential but it will never reach it's potential while some of the supporters continue to put aside their responsibility to support the club.

By the way, we made

The race night was a very good, funny night out. Well done to everyone involved. I agree with gazza though,we must have over 100 members to this club and no more then 50 turned up at the race night last night which is poor from the supporters.. considering some of the peopple that turned up last night hardly ever go the football games.

Sorry you feel some of us are poor in supporting the club.

I for one do have a life to lead outside the club and i am gutted that i can't make it to some of the games.

But all in all i am as loyal as the next man or woman at the club, Maybe not as supportive as others who have been mentioned above.

I'm sure that the club will be fine and will have the supporters back as normal in the not to distant future.

?? why would you two think Gazz is talking about you, I was also very disappointed with the turnout last night, but that doesn't mean I expect everyone to attend every event and I very much doubt that Gary does either.

I would go as far to say that I wished we had a lot more supporters like you JL, and you BB.

I know TC or at least I think I know.

The point I was rather ham-fistedly trying to make is that I really believe (quite strongly actually) that slating the people that do turn up to games is in my view completely counter-productive.

I take my hat off (if it's not cold) to those people that give their time to the club, and I know that some give a lot, but instead of bogging out the people who don't go to events, perhaps we could ask them if there is any event that they would like to see, anything they can think of that would get a good turn-out. Maybe they would have some suggestions, maybe not - but let's engage not dis-engage.

Our gates are sadly well down this year, perhaps the focus of the BTSA should equally be on getting the missing 150 back or getting new people in as much as staging events for the people we have. For example on here last week a young lad suggested putting flyers in the 200 free newspapers that he delivers, perhaps we could get in touch with him, get the stuff printed and say "Thanks mate" - 1 extra person would cover the printing costs.

I can't drink more beer. It makes me moan apparently.

Gazza before you got into the lack of support for the race night I presume you were aiming your comments at the lack of noise from our supporters during the game. Well all I can say is that whilst I agree we should allways try and encourage the team even if they are not doing too well but i think yesterday they were quiet in utter disbelief that we could perform like we did against a team whilst full of enthusiasm were definately not in the same level of football as us. 1-1 at 87 minutes is what everyone including the loyal band of helpers were just gobsmacked about. Still we got out of gaol and lets hope we do not put on a performance like that in the next round. If you are reading this guys in the team, give the 300+ (at the moment) supporters who come every week something to shout about.

Some very valid points and I do applogise to those that have taken them as a "personal" attack on themselves.

A couple of points here.

Instead of slating these regular contributors to the club, perhaps you would be better employed spending a bit of time outside of the ground spreading the word of our wonderful club and trying to drum up some new support.

You lecture me that there is a life outside the club and then ask me to give even more than my time to promoting the club? How about yourself asking if you could help run a stall? Promoting the club should not be just down to myself and the BTSA. I do have a full time occupation, like yourself.

As you are well aware, a stall in the High Street used to be a regular occurrence and proved a valuable way of promoting the club, bringing in new support and raising a few quid as a bonus. I haven

Personally I believe the 'missing supporters' are due to the standard of football we are currently playing. As a season ticket holder I go to most games, home and away, and I try to encourage friends and family to join me in supporting the Blues. This has been more difficult since the middle of last season purely because when I can persuade people to join me the hoof ball they normally see puts them off. I know we have injuries but Billericay Town as a product just isn't that appealing to casual fans at the moment.

4-4-2 with two wide men is hoof ball?
the ball was given to Fergie and Bradley constantly Saturday but neither of them played well.

When Burbo went off we had nine not available, and with nine out we ain't gonn'a be at our best.

what time is the draw today?
