I know this i stupid but has anyone ever considered the reason we fail every season in gaining promotion. I was thinking it could be down to our manager i mean look at dagenham garry hill is a great manager then Andy Ford the gravesend manager one thing they all have in common they all know the game now im not sayng kingy should go but it got me thinking i feel we should do what Aldershot did and build a squad to get us out of the bloody ryman league

I think that is what Jeff has been trying to do for the past two seasons! He's already said that he has most of the Squad he needs and judging by what we've got at Park Lane I agree with him. A few wise signings and we will have a Squad that the likes of Aldershot & Gravesend have had to get out the League. But remember the players we have that can't go into the Conference! The teachers like Wardy, Ashley & Crow, those that would have to take days off work...Proths, Boylan, Duffy etc half of the Squad we have can't play in the Conference as they can't get the time off but they have the skill and ambition to get us out of this League! Rememeber Bods coming to us from Dagenham the season they went up? He couldn't play Conference football cause he's a Postman!

 

Once we're in the Conference, then we'll worry about how we're going to survive up there...

Good Point there i just hope next season is our season as we definitely deserve to go up after 3 consecutive failures i just hope Scum dont turn strong or Grays actually start performing it will be a lot harder next season as there full time

Once again the FANS of Canvey miss the point. 1. If Jeff had not taken over the club mamy moons ago, we would not even be having this discussion, because there would be no Canvey Island F.C. 2. Aldershot have succeeded in going to the conference after many years of trying, we were prob still div 2 when they had there first go, also there are other teams who have tried for longer still and not even got close! From talking to Jeff and others right at the heart of the club, it is our manager's and don't forget Glenn's, total focus to make the next step up, and it is not for the want of trying that we are not there already! After a terrible start we finished on 92 points, most seasons 80 odd would be enough. So lets stop bitching and get behind the team 100%, home and ESPECIALLY AWAY! Maybe a few more yellow army could make the difference!

I go every away game so i give my full support to the cause i just wish we could entice a few more through the turnstiles as we should have at least 2-400 more each home game. I was not getting on the back of the manager i was just making a point i think we will get promoted i also think glenn has done a magnificent job to get us where we are i mean who will ever forget the trophy i never will

yeah.. jeff king out!! i mean who wants to watch 100 plus goals a season.. and where does he get off picking players like kennedy and boylan and minton!! the man has no idea.. ask any one from port vale, northampton, wigan, telford, stevenage blah blah etc etc... i wouldnt mind if he backed his ideas up with some of his own money!! he obviously dosent give a toss and will probably jack it all in in 20 years time , typical 30 season flash in the pan..

Footynut, sorry if you thought i aimed the away support bit at you! not sure who you are, but if you go most away games i must know your face at least! I stand by the fact that there is a lot of part time supporters who love to whinge and say "i told you so" but do not go the extra mile when it comes to, e.g.,a tuesday night at Cheshunt!

Ah Chesunt - that was a funny old game. Minton scores a free kick one end, then they went and did the same. Only until Boylan got a hatrick (again) that we could relax a bit!
