Taken from their website....

Our ambition collectively and severally is to play the gracious game of football at the highest level in this country. We believe that given the opportunities available to us in this country, one day we shall participate at the highest level of football in this western world.

I can hear Rhodes beating a path to their front door as we speak... smile

They seem to be doing quite well on their own without the help of Cecil's usual flowery prose!

So who's going to watch a game today?

I shall be going to Rayleigh Town vs. Leytonstone United ko @ 2.30?

Will Leytonstone turn up? Will Rayleigh win by 11 clear goals to get promotion and pip Hutton at the post.

In the mid 60s Armada (then to become Basildon United) were odds on for promotion to the Thames-side Premier but another team, can't remember their name, had to win by 13 clear goals and the barsts won 14-0!!

So it's Cranes United after the crane on one side of the Ugandan coat of arms, sounds nicer than Antelopes United. Surely Rhodes would have been beating a path to Matabeleland! wink

My football season is finally over. Did enjoy the HW v Mountnessing game the other evening, especially with a crowd approaching 200, which would have put most ESL sides to shame. Good standard too as both clubs would more than hold their own in said league.

The new club house at Harold Par is quality, one of the best I have seen in years. Just a shame that it is limited to park football and cricket and henceforth Harold Wood are destined to remain at Step 7 for the foreseeable future..
