Called off their ccl clash on the friday night (rightly so) but then arranged a friendly on the pitch against a local side from another league despite by their own admission on their website the pitch being underwater in several areas.

Whoever it is & if the league find out, got a feeling they will be in deep trouble

If it had been at Meadowbank, they would have been in deep water !

Don't know if that is a major problem. If they want to risk injury and cutting up their pitch (!!!) then thats up to them. Would you really want to play a competitive match in the same conditions?

Friendly Match

Chobham 4 Old Wokingians 1

After the postponement of their League Match, Chobham arranged a friendly against Old Wokingians. The pitch was very heavy with a lot of standing water and large puddles. This made for an entertaining game and a good work out for all the players.

Chobham took the lead in the 3rd minute when the ball was stuck in a puddle long enough for Mark Ward to pick it up in the area and shoot into the corner. Chobham doubled their lead in the 19th minute when Chris Paterson was brought down in the area after a great run. Tom Masey stepped up calmly to slot the ball into the corner. Old Wokingians’ had a golden opportunity to pull one back in the 23rd minute, but they hit the post from a penalty and put the rebound wide.

Chobham extended their lead in the 65th minute when a cross field ball from Chris Land was met by Ward who shot across the keeper into the far corner. Old Wokingians did pull a goal back in the 68th minute. However, it was Chobham and Ward who had the last word in the 77th minute with the best goal of the game. Ward completed his hatrick with a low long range drive from 40 yards which went in off the post.

This was a good run out for the team and they resume league action away to Frimley Green on Tuesday night, weather permitting. Next Saturday Chobham visit Farnham Town.

James Shaw, Eddie McKinlay, Chris Paterson, Dale Ansell, Tom Masey, Richard Keown, Chris Land, Mark Ward, Shoeib Khan, Dan Thorogood, Jack Thompson, Rui Rocha, Jamie Doble, Ben Arnett
