News!!...

I watched John Craven's Newsround yesterday (no John Craven these days, sadly) and two stories in particular caught my eye.

Certainly, under the rule of Zeal's government, both of these would be enforced...

Thai Kids Get On-line Gaming Ban

Gamers in Thailand will be banned from playing online games at night.

It follows reports that hundred of children are becoming addicted to playing games on the net.

From 15 July no one will be able to access game servers from 10pm till 6am.

More and more internet cafes specialising in online gaming have sprung up in Thailand recently and they've become very cheap.

One game in particular which is worrying officials is the Korean role-playing game Ragnarok.

It has over 600,000 registered players in Thailand, many of them children.

It's not violent but there's no time limit and games can last 10 hours.

One young student said in a Thai newspaper said:

"Ragnarok has become a drug and all of my friends are addicted to it. Nobody plays soccer with me now."

So the country's technology minister said they shouldn't play it for long stretches.

Smooching could be illegal for Under-16s

A smooch behind the bike sheds could land you in trouble with the police if a law the government wants is passed!

The law is aimed at protecting kids from adults.

But the way it's been written says it would also be illegal for people under-16 to kiss and cuddle in public.

It would even apply to boyfriends and girlfriends!

Some kids' campaigners are upset about this because they think kissing and cuddling is a normal part of growing up.

But the government is telling kids who are happy to have a smooch with each other that they won't get in trouble.

It says it's very unlikely you'll get arrested for having a snog.

The proposal is part of loads of changes being put forward in the Sexual Offences Bill.

MPs are having a debate about the bill on Tuesday.

They will then have a vote to decide whether it should move on to the next stage in the process which could make it a law.

Any thoughts??...
