Thinking of heading to Harpenden Town v Berkhamsted in the Division One Cup tomorrow evening. How well does the pitch hold up in the rain? I know there's none forecast but we've had heavy showers in South London this evening. Also is there a pub near the ground that does food? Nothing too fancy, not particularly fussy! Also what's the clubhouse like?

Thanks in advance!

Haha, the clubhouse is a must see, you'll never experience anything like it again....a real eye opener

Last time i was there they didnt have no carpet and the heating must have packed up to as it was freezing!

We had to clear a sainsburys chicken off the pitch as well as a couple of legs!!

Rhodes - You are just showing that you know nothing and are a prize fanny. The Club house is poor always cold no heating, The changing rooms are poor to small can hardly fit 11 players in there never mind a full squad, The showers are Poor always cold, The toilet is poor only have one and the light never works,The Ref's changing room and shower is poor as it is small and only has one shower that is always cold, The Pitch has to be the worst i have played on or taken a team to play on food on it, big holes in it, holds water better then any swimming pool. In all the place is a big hole.

The people who run the place are nice people Les being top of that list, others have come up with great ideas about a new ground, new club house etc etc have plans in place blah blah but no-one is putting up the money to back up these great ideas.

But hey they have sky sports!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Come on Rhodes tell me i am wrong and you know better!!!!! Or are you going to duck another one of my post's but then in a few days time try and dig me out.

Love the Game - Actually I couldn't disagree with you more and anyone from Harpenden Town won't be best pleased when they read your comments. The Clubhouse is quite welcoming actually and has an 'intimate' feel to it, the Officials area, albeit admittedly not the best in the SSML, is perfectly adequate and Les Crabtree and the other Club Officials can't do enough for you. Anyway Monkeymonkey8 only mentioned the Clubhouse and you bring the dressing rooms and hallowed Rothamsted Park turf into it.

Actually everything he says about the facilities are unfortunately spot on. There is no interest in the Town for local football. Rugby, Cricket and golf rule the roost. The facilities are still the same as when I use to take in a game in the 1970's, and yes I have been there recently.

Do we know why the Biggleswade derby was postponed, the Carlsberg Stadium can't have been waterlogged
