Midweek Fixtures & Results - 25/26/27 January

Recommended Posts

Love the Game - Actually I couldn't disagree with you more and anyone from Harpenden Town won't be best pleased when they read your comments. The Clubhouse is quite welcoming actually and has an 'intimate' feel to it, the Officials area, albeit admittedly not the best in the SSML, is perfectly adequate and Les Crabtree and the other Club Officials can't do enough for you. Anyway Monkeymonkey8 only mentioned the Clubhouse and you bring the dressing rooms and hallowed Rothamsted Park turf into it.

It's that good it makes your coat look like it's brand new.......haha

Tuesday 25 January

Berks & Beds FA Senior Trophy Third Round

3 1 Sandhurst Town v Chalfont St Peter

A report on this old fashioned Cup shock from another's Forum:

Sandhurst Town 3 Chalfont St. Peter 1

Berks & Bucks Senior Trophy 3rd Round

Admission £6 incl. programme

Expected an easy win for the visitors, as they are running away with the South Midlands Premier League title, however a good battling performance saw Sandhurst 2-0 up at the interval. When the visitors pulled one back, and almost snatched an equaliser moments later, it looked far from over, however Sandhurst killed the game off with a third goal against the run of play, and Chalfont played as though they knew the game was now out of their reach.

Ground is uncovered on 3 sides, with a small Arena type stand down one side, which was welcomed against the heavy rain. Clubhouse, tea hut and changing rooms located behind one goal. Enjoyable evening spent in the company of a former Sandhurst Town chairman.

So why is this result a shock? Sandhurst deserved the win yes CsP had their moments, but the Sandhurst goalkeeper has less saves to make than the CsP one

Well how long have you got and the reporter said that he expected an easy win for the visitors, everybody did.

Rhodes - You really do talk Wee & Poo, if it was not for others who tell me your a bloke I would have you down as a Lady, you always want to start an arguement for no reason, you always think you know best and you always want the last word!!!!!

You have never played at the club so clearly have no idea about the changing rooms and the state of the pitch. The pitch is the worst surface i have played on, the stand is nothing short of laughable. Yes Les does a lot of work at the club along with his wife as did i when playing there along with others, but that does not mean that the place is a palace does it? There is no flooring in the clubhouse, there is a silly painting on the wall, the bar has no beer on tap, the place is cold. Do i need to go on? All you are doing now doing Rhodes is showing you know nothing about everything.

so the reporter has a good knowledge of the Combined Counties and Sandhurst in particular then?

Terrence Collina - I'm not taking anything away from Sandhurst's performance last night as it was a decent win, I'm only saying that they weren't expected to turn Chalfont St Peter over that's all. The Buckinghamshire Advertiser also suggest that it was a shock particularly as they had a strong side out:

What's the time limit then in the Rhodesworld...does the full match report need to be completed and on the website during half time then....or Rhodes perhaps you could make one up for them, you know usual dribble and bull with no relevance to the subject at hand, bet they'd really appreciate that.

Text 'follow HertfordTownFC' to 86444 and you'll get free text updates of matchday squads and live reports from games (for most games)

Unless you are on T-Mobile as they don't seem to allow this service!
