Season Extension ????

What is the likelihood of the various leagues at Steps 5-7 extending the season into mid May ?

With all of the postponements over the winter unless there is an extension I can see many clubs having to play 4 matches a week to get the season finished. I can't remember a season with so many postponements with the bad weather affecting fixtures as early as October.

This is meant to be a sensible post, so please Rhodesey see if you can make a comment without any digs at KT or HB !

What I find bizarre is that our first game for the Ressies wasnt until 21st September - a full 5 weeks after the first team season started!

 

and now we have more games left than the first team...

 

Does anyone know the rationale behind this scheduling? It just, in my opinion, makes it harder to keep players interested at the start of the season and adds to the fixture pile - up and wear and tear on pitches at this time of year.

At Step 5 it's not down to the leagues - the FA decide. Trouble is, they'll probably only decide to grant an extension 2 weeks into April when all the fixtures have already been scheduled.
