Would need to know what version of Internet Explorer he is using. It should say at the top of the page.

 

He can switch to the alternative theme if using an old copy of IE, which is out of date.

 

What username is he, and I could force it.

 

Would also strongly suggest upgrading IE ideally to IE9 or IE8 or better still using Chrome.

I was getting the same problem but it went when I switched to Chrome.
