suspensions and play offs

Recommended Posts

I know we can still the league but as a general question. If a player reaches 10 or 15 yellow cards (enough to be suspended) and the 2 weeks after recieving the yellows total was during the play offs dates would the player be suspended from the play offs.

10th bookings cease to invoke a suspension on second sunday in April (8th)

Anyone picking up a 10th up to Sat 7th would have served their suspension on 21st and 28th April, so would be available for play offs.

The only player that can pick up his 10th booking before 7th April is Danny Burnell who is on 8.

Paul Coyne has 11, NBH and Sonner have 12.

Will 15 bookings stay the same?

If so is it still possible for all 3 to be suspended for the play-offs if we have to go that route?

  • 3 weeks later...

Some good news, NBH has been suspended for 1 match and will only miss the Leighton game.

Where's that come from RR?

I think the main issue is when a player gets 2 yellows in a game and consequently a red do the 2 yellows still count as yellows in the totting up procedure?

I am guessing it doesn't as you'd have thought the FA would have dealt with both the yellows and red card at the same time if it did.

Also, on a separate note, our Player stats still has NBH on 13 yellow cards.

And it wasn't even a red!!!!!!! Maybe the ref should come forward and admit he booked the wrong player!!

Trouble is Marcus the Ref still thinks he's right unless he's proven otherwise with say, video evidence.

NBH getting a red for two yellows and only getting a 1 match ban may be a good result as if he had only got one yellow then the next yellow card in the league would have meant he was suspended for the play offs (if we end up in them).

But in the end it doesn't matter as it will most likely force bateman to put Brown back in the team which he deserves.

Very astute young man!
