Well he 'blasted' the old Newport County out of existence.

He was a 'businessman' from Washington State and took over Newport County in 1986 under a 'vehicle' called JLA. Newport County had circa £130,000 debt at the time, which he said he would pay off. He never put a penny in, and in 1989 Newport County went under owing £330,000!

Google Gerald Sherman or Jerry Sherman and JLA - it'll shock you.

Looking at Oxford City's forum, the fans are already in revolt at their new chairman:

Methinks a Walter Mitty is on the loose...

EDIT: Even their neighbours at the Kassam Stadium are worried about what's going on at Court Farm http://www.rageonline.co.uk/phpbb3/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=4928

Me too John.  I would have thought that Oxford City would have done a better job at vetting this investor.
