There seems to be so many more teams with cash on the hip, it’s so frustrating as it makes it even harder for clubs like ours just to stay up! Why can’t we have a bit of this big investment, why are these people not attracted to a club like us? What’s wrong with us!!!

Don't own the ground and no propect of ever owning it Glen. Anyone "investing" in Slough would be doing it for the love of the team and not with any protection or prospect of ever getting the money back.

If you take Ebbsfleet as the example, yes their guy has plowed millions into the team in the past few years, but at least when he comes to move away, he'll get that back and more as there are assets there to be sold in the package.

That to me seems like the main issue as with a town the size of Slough and the obvious potential in the football team as a whole, why wouldn't someone invest - well IMO, that's why.

Come on Glen don't be so naive!

You should ask the board who accepted A23's bid for the club why they thought they had sufficient funds, considering A23's first bid was rejected due to lack of funds, and then a few months later the funds miraculously appears!

Ever since Scott has been having to manage on far less playing budget than most clubs in this league, and it appears less than some clubs lower down.

You’ve obviously not been to the ground for a while as there’s a massive change from what you see now to how it was before the new board took over. Yes no one is perfect but the club is on a solid footing with ambitious plans to take club forward.

Not sure about that SF.

Ok we don't own the ground but the club has a 50 year lease and I'm pretty sure that with the money that's already been spent on improvements and whats planned to be spent on future projects imo our revenue and profitability should only increase.

You are right in theory RR, but with nothing securing your investment, there is no out strategy available apart from hoping you fine another person who is as passionate about the club as you are. In my example of Ebbsfleet, at least when the guy gets bored, he knows he can sell the ground from under the team, recoup his investment and probably, with the way these people do business, make a massive profit and who cares about what happens to the club.

Unfortunately we have seen this type of way time and again.

Be interesting to know what figure the council would sell AP considering their perilous financial situation.

It's not the council's to sell Glen (i don't think). I'm pretty sure the land it's on is still owned by the DFE (being a former school) and thus you'd be talking directly to the government.
