Folkestone Invicta V Enfield Town

Great result today Town against another unbeaten side !

Folkestone, like ourselves, have made an excellent start to the new season, and are always difficult to beat on their own ground. Playing in front of the second highest League attendance of the day (839),,this match was too close to call, nothing divided the two sides, and we did very well to come away with a point in a goal-less draw. It will be very interesting to read the comments from Towners who attended this match down on the Kent coast.

Think this sets us up nicely for our next home fixture, at the QE2 Stadium on Bank Holiday Monday, against our old friends and rivals Cheshunt. The weather should be fine, and an exciting match is in prospect. Don't miss it, we need a BIG crowd, and plenty of vocal support for our guys, as they look to take three points from this local derby.

Let's hear it for Andy and our players  "COME ON THE TOWN"

Didn't make it down yesterday, always a tough place to go and get a result which we should all be pleased with.

So did anyone from here go?  How did we play?   Looks like the team is taking shape and am looking forward to getting behind the boys tomorrow for the A10 rivalry.

Come on you Town!!

Been waiting to see the footage of the phantom goal incident - seems conclusive, we should have been 1-0 down after 6 minutes and who knows what might have happened then!

Was very happy with the point at a difficult place to go - in truth, either side could have won the game and it really could have been 5-3 to the home side by half time. Adam Cunnington played up front for the first time this season. Impressed with his performance, a real beast of a centre forward who really will win almost every header. However, we played our usual formation in the first half meaning Mo Faal & Sam Youngs were pushed wide - didn't really work, not a lot of point in Cunnington winning headers if he doesn't have a player near him or, at least, good crosses being provided from the wings.

Andy did change things at half time though I found it difficult to see what we were really trying to do for much of the half. Jerry Gyebi was replaced at half time with Josh Urquhart moving to centre back, presumably to save Jerry from a potential red card. He was booked in the first half and the Folkestone no 10, who gave him a torrid time, went down at every opportunity. We did look more solid in the second half but there were fewer chances for both sides.

A good point but a lot to work on - Folkestone will rightly feel very hard done by.

Only just seen the incident.

Talking point indeed and ball was probably a foot over the line having frozen it, but guess the officials can only give what they've seen, or in this case not seen.

Who knows what would have happened next but it wouldn't have finished 0 0.
