Totternhoe won't make it easy for Pitstone & Ivinghoe this afternoon despite their 11-1 win last week against The 61 FC (Luton):

RallyInRaleigh - Karen helpfully alerted us to a 'proviso' regarding the live streaming of matches from the United Kingdom which is disappointing and red tape at its best. Here is the link to this afternoon's game at Burton Park Wanderers for fans, like your good self, living overseas:

A groundhopper from another Forum was at Hitchin Road:

South Midlands Premier
ARLESEY TOWN 1-1 TRING ATHLETIC
Admission £8.00 Programme online again Tea, Coffee £1.00 each, Attendance 77 (1st half h/c 84)

Now, I heard in the dim and distant past before all football was suspended that Arlesey (or whoever owns it) had plans to sell part of the car park so that moaning minnies could move in and complain about lots of cars and people milling about for a few hours every other Saturday afternoon, brightly shining floodlights on occasional Tuesday evenings and anyone hiring the function room on any day of the week. And so it came to pass as the front area on both sides (which in fairness rarely needed to be used) is now occupied by six small detached bungalows and two semi-detached bungalows in which there's barely room to swing a cat. Despite this, what parking's left is still perfectly adequate for the attendances they get.
How much the Club got for this sale remains a mystery, but it's enabled them to invest in FOUR new wall-mounted TVs and refurbish the clubhouse, getting rid of that small raised area in the corner. Any money saved by ditching (again) those annoyingly scruffy bits of paper was presumably invested in repairing the clock above the stand which only worked for two hours before giving up the ghost again.
As punishment for bringing the League into disrepute by getting themselves knocked out of the FA Cup so early, Ms Browne made them forgo their free Saturday with this, which was so forgettable, I've forgotten how forgettable it was. All I can remember is that Tring took the lead after barely five minutes (around the same time as the pitchside door to the Clubhouse was opened which was a relief as I'd forgotten my watch) and then Arlesey equalised in the second half.

A groundhopper from another Forum was at this one, don't Eaton Socon have fIoodIights then, how were the CIub admitted to the League:

Spartan South Midlands League Division One Eaton Socon v Holmer Green Admission £3 (concession) Programme £1 (a perfectly adequate Barnes Print production). Attendance 62.
It has been remarked upon how many of the newly promoted Step 6 grounds are works in progress - well this one is another case in point. Entrance is made to the rear of the indoor bowling green via a table and pay box. The ground is railed off on all four sides with a head high wooden fence erected on three sides to prevent free viewing from outside. There is hard standing behind the goal at the entrance end of the ground and two areas of covered standing have been erected. Just beyond the second covered area are two plastic park bench style seats and there are some plastic seats in the stand which is nearer the pay box. Floodlights are due to be erected on September 12th with the deadline set at September 30th. There is a marquee currently in place close to where the players enter the pitch from close to the Clubhouse. The game was a good one with an almost total lack of dissent played on an extremely parched pitch. The Referee was very consistent and controlled the game very well, although I thought he was a little too fussy at times. However, both teams wanted to play football and the game was eventually decided by two goalkeeping howlers for Eaton Socon's first and third goals.
A final thought - what are Rugby Borough doing in this League? By no stretch of the imagination could Rugby be said to be in the South Midlands and it means that this League's footprint now stretches all the way from there to North London.
