SSML Challenge Trophy First Round
Rugby Borough v Leverstock Green

Leverstock Green describe the tie as 'new territory' and they are spot on, it's 'no-win' for Fergus Moore:

Saturday 17 September

Division One
Moulton FC 5 Raunds Town 2

A groundhopper from another Forum was present:

Moulton FC 5 Raunds 2 SSML Division 1
Admission £5, Programme £2, Coffee £1.20, h/c 55

There is a large car-park at the ground and you pay at a wooden hut by the entrance. On your left is a large clubhouse with a tea hatch and a bar. The 4G pitch is on a higher level, up some steps or a ramp for those less mobile. The "cage" has a seated stand on one side and the dug outs are on the far side. The ground is three-sided with the clubhouse side (behind the goal) out of bounds.
The game was very entertaining. The home team played possession football until their winger became free and then within a couple of passes, they had a shooting chance. Moulton were 3 up at the break and seemed in total control.
The second half saw Raunds by far the better team. They pulled a goal back and then missed three or four good chances. Against the run of play Moulton added a fourth goal and then the visitors had a player sent to the sin bin. In the 93rd minute Moulton scored from a superb free-kick, but while they were congratulating themselves, Raunds scored from the last kick of the game, fantastic entertainment. Raunds can take a lot of heart from their second half performance and hopefully it will see them pull away from the bottom of the table.
