Could it become a two horse race soon?

Recommended Posts

Talking about Billericay here. They are 16 points behind us, we’ve got a game in hand , they are currently 16th in the form league and after a midweek game away to Concord (subject to a pitch inspection!!) they have a nasty run of 6 games starting away at Chatham. I think they are going to struggle to keep in the hunt if Chatham beat them on Saturday

If Chatham are in the race then we also have to say Horsham are in the race because they can go level on points with them, granted they have a few games in hand but they’ve got momentum now and like us when you go on these kind of runs it’s hard to stop. Got to focus on ourselves first and foremost but as it stands 95pts would currently win it, which is still a bit away. Think I’d prefer Ricay to beat Chatham this week, would be nice for that required target to go below 90pts. That being said, we need max 25 pts out of 39 available, we’ve dropped 17 in 29 games. It’s obviously the hardest bit getting over the line but we’re in a better situation than we were at this stage last season. 11pts better off than we were at this stage last season. Just about having that mental strength to get over the line. We said last year we won’t get a better opportunity of winning the title but after getting 70pts from 29 games, we definitely won’t now.

Need to watch Horsham, hoping their games in hand hamper them as that's a lot of games to make up but if they do get a run going, they could get up there. There's always a team that gets a run together and sneaks into the playoffs, I think that's going to be Dulwich (as long as their keeper remembers he's not an outfield player).

Concord won’t be easy, no game is, everyone is fighting for different things. If they weren’t dead in the title race before they probably are now. Cant see anything but Chatham beating them.

Also goes to show how quickly football can change, a few weeks ago, they were firmly in the mix still with Chatham and that one really bad run can kill you. They still should have plenty for the play offs though.
