Frightening Moments...

Recommended Posts

...on TV & Film.

My two are:

Wogan (1980s):

That precocious little kid with the bubble perm who gave valuations on antiques.

[What became of him, I wonder]

Tory Party Conference:

The boy-child William Hague, as representative of the Young Conservatives, giving that brown-tongue speech in front of Thatcher.

[color:"blue"] 1) That bubble-gum haired [color:"red"] 'him' [color:"blue"] became a [color:"red"] 'her' [color:"blue"] and was on telly the other night. Didn't look too bad, actually, apart from a slightly male effeminate voice. [color:"red"] (NURSE, Get the pills ready !) 2) As for the precocious little pratt giving the speech. Yes - I saw it and we ALL know what happened to him.

[color:"black"] The one that made me CRINGE at the time was, Monsieur Johnny Rotten, (late of I'm a twat: Get me Out of Here,) giving it LARGE to Bill Grundy on early evening T.V.

I cringed then, but LOVE watching it again now !

[color:"black"] He didn't did he? Bloody hell!
Mind you he did remind me of John Hurt playing Quentin Crisp in the Naked Civil Servant.

I thought he'd turned into that mad Uncle from Vic & Bob's show who went around shouting "donkey". [color:"black"]

Did anyone ever see that documentary about the Millenium Bug, and the catastrophic repurcussions for the western world if the major organisations didn't remedy their systems?

It was shown in early 1999 I think.

God, that was terrifying! riots. Murder. Invasions from foreign forces etc..

Don't know about rough. Dirty ones maybe, if last night's one is anything to go by.

Talking of pubs...I used to kick around Gravesend & Northfleet about 10-15 years back as a mate lived there. Haven't been back since.

Is the Penny Farthing still as it is, do you know?

His nearest one was called the Painters' Ash [i think...was always too pissed to read the sign]

[color:"blue"] Can't remember which programme it was, though I think it was "Where are they now ?"

Apparently, when his voice started to sort of break, he reckoned he was born a girl, so went ahead and had the lot removed, (if there was anything to remove !!) [color:"black"]
