Next season: admission charges.

Recommended Posts

Very interesting information in the locals this week:

FREE ENTRY to pre-season friendlies

DISCOUNT SCHEME for season ticket holders to benefit by introducing new season ticket purchasers, starting from £25 off for introducing one new person, up to a potentially free season ticket!

PRICES FROZEN for admission next season.

Discuss.

I believe this to be fair, especially for admission prices. £10 is fair for a midtable (can we say that now??) conference side, especially with the standard of our ground and facilities (not much wrong with the bar, but obvious problems with the stands etc.)

For season tickety discounts, i don't think there will be too many people that can attract enough new season ticket holders for a free season ticket, but the incentive is good for helping persuade non-season ticket holders to get season tickets.

Is this for everyone, or just season ticket holders?

Good question - I'm not sure that the statement implies an answer either way!

The words used were 'In future all supporters attending pre-season friendlies and reserve team fixtures will be admitted free of charge.'

Read the news page and then let us know what you think.

You do think don't you? <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

PS I used the whole Press Release so that you get the correct result.

Your comment was a bit unfair as I haven't bothered to look at the news page all week (seeing as you weren't supposed to be updating it anymore ? and I thought the club would take a week or two to get sorted) so I relied on the way it was worded in the press.

Sorry old chap!

I'm checking with Brian to see whether there is something that Tony Hudd knows, that I don't, and I'll get back to you.

That was my last news item, I thought that it was important, so I put t on before transferring the files.

The other one I got (referred to by Mr S in another thread) was frankley insulting to the members of the trust board and so I decided to ignore it.

No I'm not surprised - also means that The Reporter has got it wrong too!

Like I said, as I expected it to be a few weeks before the club got itself sorted (re: website), I hadn't read the version that I now know to be correct.

PS - Did you get my message on your answerphone last night?

  • 2 weeks later...

Ref my previous postings on this subject.

I called the Club office today and they confirmed that there are not any admission concessions for those kids over 16 still in full-time education.

Does anyone else think this is a short-sighted approach on behalf of the Club?
