R.I.P. MUSTARD BUS

Recommended Posts

Yesterday saw the "Mustard Bus" take its last Journey. The Colonel has been a good & loyal servant to both EFC & ETFC. In the "Good Old Days" we went as far as Yeovil, Chesterfield, York, Worthing, Peterborough & many more, & in the "Ground Sharing" Days with EFC, Stewards & Catering supplies where also transported to St Albans, Boreham Wood, Hendon, Bishops Stortford, Harrow & I am sure there must be some I've missed.

I think one of the most important tasks of late was taking Mrs R & Pete Coath to get married earlier this year, that was superb.

It was a sad day, the engine is fine we just needed a new body. So Rest in Peace dear Colonel, you've been a loyal & trusty servant. We will miss you.

SL you must know how it felt, But you will return bigger, better and more frightening than ever in a new Mustard Bus mark 2 or the cherry red that has replaced it so far.

Brunob, the Cherry Red is fine, but it only seats 3. The Mustard Bus used to seat 12.

I remember when we had to take Bookings it was that popular. Oh Happy Days!!

R.I.P Old friend. I was honoured to be part of the Mustard Bus Crew. Our girls grew up on that bus. I'm sure you remember when we broke down on the Ridgeway and Jess (who was a lot younger) told Dave to 'mind the bears'. And what about us all singing along to Bohemian Rhapsody, all different ages but everyone knew the words. Oh happy days. Will really miss you Colonel.

yeah I thought it was the mustard, what would your mother put on here beef?

How come everything around here relates to food, Gazza?

Hey, dont ask me, all i ask from life is a corner piece of bread pudding on a saturday.....without the mustard!
That mustard bus nearly cost me three points once,
in the early days of the ESL when away grounds were new, i jumped a red light to keep up with it, safe in the knowledge the mustard bus knew where it was going even if we didnt!

I remember that night very well. What about trying to get to Grays Athletic for the last game of that Season, Colonel broke down that day too, luckily someone was following & Dave had to go back & get that smelly little car for some of us to go in, the rest all crammed in where ever they could.

Yeovil was quite memorable too, we got locked in the ground after the Yeovil Fans stormed the Pitch & then they started lobbing rocks at the coaches. Happy days!!!
