Proud to be a Billericay Supporter

I think we can all agree that Billericay Town FC is going from strength to strength which was witnessed yesterday when we held our own and at times were better than our Conference opposition.

The result was disappointing but we have taken a lot of good points away from this game and our win last week in the Trophy that we can compete at the higher level which will give us that confidence to go forward for the rest of the season.

Everyone associated with BTFC from the Main Club, Management team, players, BTSA and supporters should all be proud of what we have achieved to date since Steve Kent came to the club.

Well done to everyone who helped promote this game around the Town by putting up a poster, telling your friends and family, helping handing out flyers at the Railway Station and in the High Street in the build up to the game. You could see your results yesterday with 1800 people at the game.

I feel the team has real confidence and passion in the way they are playing a the moment. Yes the news about Danny Hockton is a big blow as Danny is a great player but lets hope that Bertie agrees to stay as he can be a key player as we go forward and look to achieve our aim of promotion in the league.

The FA Cup dream is now over but the league and FA Trophy are now our main focus so lets all continue our great support both home and away and come the end of the season fingers crossed we will all be celebrating.

See you on Thursday at New Lodge for our Essex Senior Cup tie with Halstead.

I totally agree. I was loud and proud yesterday and it was fantastic to see so many people there, lets hope some of them got a taste for it and keep coming back, just like i did after the Wisbech game.

The players did us proud yesterday and really played up to the occasion and i thsnk every one of them for giving me one of the most exciting days in my btfc history. Well done to everyone who helped out, i did my small bit, but lots of people put a lot of effort into preparing for the game and promoting it and they deserve a lot of credit.

What all 1800 of them <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Wouldn't get too carried away with this whole "holding your own against higher divison clubs", teams always raise thier games against higher division clubs, I don't see Slough banging on about how they could get to League One.
Ultimatly you end up where you deserve after the marathon which is the league program, hence last seasons relegation.
Shame you didn't beat Shitenage though because I really hate them, on the other side of the coin though I probably won't have to support you again this season <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/shocked.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/shocked.gif" alt="" />

As a Blues supporter of 30 years standing may I add my voice to the list of those who want to congratulate the club on everything that was done around Saturdays game.

Those of us involved with the club on more than a just "turn up and pay basis" must be proud of what was achieved by everyone on Saturday. The Match day organisation was superb right from the moment you turned up at the top of the lane. The Pre-match promotional efforts around the Town unprecedented (from turnstile chatter I know people turned up because of the posters etc…). The Home Support excellent throughout, so often the atmosphere at New Lodge can go flat for the bigger games but not this time – keep it up follow BTFC fans… And the team performance… well streaks ahead of the 6’s and 7’s ratings in today’s Sun. I’ve been proud to be called a Blues fan for over a quarter of a century, I’m even more so now!

Having got the crowds in for the game, it was important that the team put on a good performance and although they lost I think that those who haven't been down to New Lodge for a while will have been impressed with the team, and the work going on around the clubhouse.

It's a shame we haven't got a decent home game for three weeks now (up to Hampton we'll have only had 5 saturdays at home out of 16!) but hopefully with 4 home games in December we can get some momentum going.

Watch out for the posters....
