a good result in the end, we didnt play that well but managed to get the result we wanted.

bertie brayley enjoyed his day i hope.

back to football matters jamie dormer was great in taking his first goal and lucky with his second. cuz still on great form. stevo needs to get fitter or he will not have a place in the team. nathan elder wil score soon great peromances as sub.

Was Bertie on the pitch? Did naff all if he was. Thought Heybridge were one of the better sides we've faced to be honest - apart from their front 2 who were both poor and both subbed off. Typical Heybridge game really, long on huff and puff short on flowing football - and we played the better of what football there was.

[****!!****] up in the Heybridge defence gave us an og, then Dormer fired in the goal of the day to put us 2 up at half time.

2nd half they've kicked off and scored without us getting a touch (or indeed waking up) but as the half has worn on our superior fitness has showed and Dorms has scored his 2nd with a corss that deceived their lardy keeper then Cuz wrapped things up with a late 4th.

I think that playing for Heybridge just typifies the lack of ambition Bertie has. He'll go to the highest bidder no matter where they are.

As for the game, not a great performance, it was your typical local derby, blood, guts, thunder and passion. Despite that, the boys did well. The teams above us must now be thinking about those games in hand we have on some of them and the pressure must now be on Yeading to keep winning...Just what we want!!! They'll slip up and then we'll be on them.

it was a good result for us and proves what matt jones has been saying that winning is a nice habit to have. i think that although we ultimately deserved the win the scoreline flattered us a bit and if heybridge had had better forwards (ha bloody ha)they would have been closer.

leon hunter and jamie dormer were brilliant for us yesterday, all over the pitch, and loads of work, which was just as well as Forbesy looked like he was out on an afternoon's shopping. next saturday i would be tempted to start with elder alongside cousins as although ross's determination and effort was there for all to see, he still needs to work on his first touch and his finishing. i was again impressed with heybridge's dwayne edwards who is one of the few players this season who have given macca a tough time.

i felt our fitness helped us big time today as we regained our grip on the game in the last 15-20 and we were able to knock in a couple of late goals.

its a shame everyone else won (especially yeading) but all we can do is worry about ourselves and hopefully the team can extend our current excellent run of results next week.

cmon you blues!!

PS Cuzz is better than Brayley la la la......

I would agree with jl's sentiments overall but I thought Heybridge offered little in defence also. With the hindsight of the next day, they lacked communication between themselves and that was also thier faliure. Their main intent ws to go in with a late tackle and some pretty "strong arm" stuff. They tried to put us off with muscle and it didn't work 'cos we were faster, fitter and technically better than they were.

Oh, they were also easy to wind up. Kimble...what was wrong with him? Jl's comment was meant to be taken as a joke...a bit of banter but he bit big time...So not only are they Pikeys but pretty humourless ones too.

Actually thought they defended ok for about an hour - never gave us any space to settle - but after then they tired rapidly and we were pretty comfortable.

The good thing is that we're now beating (and beating well) teams that come to Billericay to scrap. At the start of the season we struggled a tad against the likes of Tonbridge who packed the midfield and tried to break up play. We now seem to be able to play round them and they have no plan B.

Think that's now 3 in a row that we've beaten em so that's one bogey that has been well and truly picked!

Possible one on one situation 5 mins to go:
Over the hill Ex-pro has been/never was vs fit, young and keen attacker. I felt it was only fair to point out to Kimble that he might not win that particular race - Some people, eh, they just don't see the funny side!!

Oh and apologies to the linesman
Apparantly you can't be off side from a goal kick
I got that one wrong...

The other 17 instances he got wrong.....

That aside jl, you were well up for the game...well vocal!!! And with your son there as well...
