To only team from the ESL left in the FA Vase Enfield Town FC good luck and best wishes. Ignore the anonymous jealousy from those that failed to get as far.

We are the town and we play to win Ware-ever we are called to play. EFC have a good team this season and respect to them but no mistaking we want to win and progress in this competition.

Abbey you have not done your treble yet and I hope that you kiss it goodbye as soon as possible! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/bootyshake.gif" alt="" />

No it's not... it's all about two teams trying to progress to the next stage of a National Cup Competition.

If it is a team you CAN support in your own league then so be it.

Football League wise I support Spurs (for my sins) and lets say that they had a game against an ESL side I would go for Spurs EVERY TIME likewise, I would go for Enfield FC everytime ... unless it was against Waltham Abbey of course!

trouble is fans are too shallow, me I want ESL clubs to progress cos that where our bread and butter is and me personally apart from a wind up here and there dont have a problem, if I want ETFC to lose it aint cos of there club its cos of fans thinking they have devine rights, the longer it goes on they will realise they aint but that aside yes come on ESL progress, cos the people who run our league deserve every credit they get for doing a difficult job and backing ALL their clubs to the hilt. And they despite everything are 100% behind every club in this league and we should be too.

I fully understand your sentiments - I suspect that the only folk who feel at ease "supporting" any team in the League are .... oh best not carry on with this thread , might expose myself !

Yep, the people who run our league do deserve credit for the job they do - and I lift my hat off to them - and it is good for the league to have it's member clubs to progress as far as possible in any national competition ...

... BUT that does not effect who one wants, for whatever reason, to win a particular football match.

You can't expect someone to support a team just because they are in your league!

That depends on your mentality, would you seriously support Spurs if they were playing Burnham Ramblers, Barkingside, or Bowers or any ESL club? Spurs will always be there, our clubs wont, one swallow dont make a summer. Personal things go aside, football is historical and fan bases are built from the old working mens days, now we can hope to bring the townsfolk out but the stark reality is we do our best for what we can get. When the glory comes, and that is what it is we take, far more loosers than winners.

In that case I'm mental! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/affig.gif" alt="" />

I support a team for reasons of my chosing - the league in which they play is not of any consequence. After all teams can change leagues (hopefully for the right reason) on a regular basis.

Duh! I think the clue is in "Senior Leaguer". Of course he want's Enfield Town to progress in the Vase, as I'm sure he wants Bowers & Pitsea to progress in the Essex FA Senior Cup.
