The facts - Step 5.

Recommended Posts

For those who don't know me I am a Match Secretary of a Ryman League Club and U18's Secretary. I received this email from the Ridgeons League.

APPLICATIONS FOR PROMOTION TO STEP 4 AT THE END OF SEASON 2004/2005

60 Clubs from thirteen Step 5 Leagues have indicated to the Football Association that, subject to finishing as Champions or Runners-up of their League and having facilities of the required standard, they wish to be considered for promotion to a Step 4 League for next season.

Unfortunately, along with the Northern League, the only other League not providing a potential promotee is the Ridgeons Football League.

There are only eight places available for promotion to the Step 4 Leagues, which are the Isthmian First Division, the two Southern League First Divisions and the Northern Premier League First Division. Play-offs will take place at the beginning of May with each League providing one club provided it has one that meets the pre-requisites required to be considered for promotion.

Each club has had to pay the Football Association a £*** fee alongside its application.
