Oh yes i nearly forgot...

There was a match today if i remember correctly!

Windsor and Eton vs Windsor and Eton in the first half and then it was very nice of Yeading to turn up in the second half (although they looked alot like Windsor and eton of the first half!!!) End of season blah blah blah. Joe 90 got his first goal for the club. Well done! As he said when he celebrated "Took a long time!" but it was well worth the wait!

Not bad to get a draw vs the Champs really. Lets get a settled side for next season with a few good additions scattered around next season i KNOW for a fact we'll cause a few shocks!

COME! ON! YOU! ROYALS!!!!!!!

Do you mean 'come on you ROYALISTS', or are you supporting Reading FC, who are the 'royals'?

Although the club's official nickname is the Royalists they were also known as the Royals long before the Biscuitmen stole the name! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/attentat.gif" alt="" />

What's royal about reading anyway? It's as royal as a rather un-royal thing. Capital of Berkshire my [****!!****]

It's the County of Berkshire which is the "Royal County". Reading FC is the only club from the Royal County to play in the Football League, and the name "Royals" refers to its location, not to its status. "Royalist" implies loyalty or allegiance to Royal status, and is therefore a name referring to Royal association, not location. As such the two names are appropriate, and not interchangeable.

Woody, just to remind you that if it wasn't for Dennis Greene achieving the points that he did at the beginning of the season you would have pretty much been relegated or would have been facing a tough battle to stay up. I know its hard for you to except that and show a little appreciation but thats life for you! So maybe if you wouldn't mind bringing yourself down a few pegs or two and quit putting on pathetic posts as s**t stirring doesn't get you or anybody anywhere. Greene moving to Maidenhead is old news, why keep holding a grudge??

Anonymous, you seem to forget that Windsor is also a Royal Borough (which Maidenhead latched on to for a bit of fame!) therefore the nicknames Royals and Royalists are both very appropriate and will both continue to be used, in fact another nickname often used in older times was 'The Borough' which also referred to its Royal status.

What about 'The Magpies', is that a reference to the black & white colours or to their penchance for stealing every bright gem of a player that appears in local football?

if it wasn't for him taking half our team we'd of been safe ages ago!

Besides it's not a grudge. It's just a laugh!

We're better off without him. Ask the players, ask the board, ask the fans...ask everyone connected with the club. Much better atmosphere, young players given a chance, we've been trying to play more attractive football.

We'd be laughing at Maidenhead even if Greene wasn't there...it just makes it a little bit funnier!

We know Marcus. We were all told the good news by a Slough fan at Stag Meadow! Although we didn't trust him (this was the same Slough fan who said you'd got Owusu on loan and signed Tony Boot a few weeks ago!) and went into the bar to see it come up on vidiprinter....

It didn't! But Malc then confirmed it! Still laughing about it now!
