Friday Night at the XFM Night!

Had a quality time - got some great photos which I intend to scan and whack on here tonight.

 

I had a bash at Punk Karaoke (These Boots Are Made For Walkin') and Thornsy made a valiant attempt at the Buzzcocks' Ever Fallen In Love, despite not appearing to know the tune!

I felt like [****!!****] on the train going down to Islington, but a few bevvies in the Wetherspoons beforehand sorted that out.

 

Big apologies to Gertcha, who made his own way down, by the way... I told everyone we'd be in Bar Academy by 8pm, but Thornsy being Thornsy insisted on going to the Wetherspoons first to have a few scabby cheap Vodka/Red Bulls.

 

Gertcha was by himself, with no phone, from 8pm onwards, and was about to leave when we eventually arrived at 9pm. Sorry fellaaahh.

It was worth the wait to see Thornsy's amazing performance on the Punk Karaoke.

Yeah, I think it's probably best to pick a song you actually know.

 

You forgot to add Steve Lamaq was also present for the occasion.

That's true. I fully expect to see Steve Lamacq in Colin's June figures!!

 

What I found a little embarrassing was when Colin found out he hadn't been picked to do the Punk Karaoke, and he started ranting at the guy who was organising it until he got his name on the list.

 

What a let-down his performance actually was, after all that self-promotion he'd been doing.

 

I mean, mine was far from great, and I wouldn't claim otherwise, but at least I knew my song.

The whole EFM chanting thing whilst you were up on stage was quality!!

Dave Morley started talking to him. It turns out he was a bit of pscyco and started getting a bit upset because one of his mates had been stabbed at Arsenal.

 

I was going to tell him that there were a few Spurs fans in his midst but decided against it.

 

Yellow, I thought you were going to do a number?

He looked a bit of a nutter.

 

Apparently Thornsy had put my name down to do "Rock N Roll Star" but if Thorns didn't make the list I doubt I would have done.
