My point is that unless you are into your forties then it would have been the first time you would have seen England beat the krauts in your lifetime. A reason good enough to treat my self to some extra Belgian lager this evening pint_beer.gif

With regards to the old bill doing such a good job, all I can say is that it’s a shame that their forefathers weren’t so up for it, because let’s face it eh, if it wasn’t for us English they’d be Krauts.

...and this time last year I was on the train from Lisbon to Coimbra for the England versus Switzerland match.

I was sitting in the Human Resources(what a fcking laugh of a title!)office working out my redundancy pay ,pension and release date. They finally let me leave on July 29th, one day before my visa ran out for my move to the States.......Negotiations of that date had only been going on for 5 months..........Some Human Resources that was!

This article asks Is England's 2006 World Cup bid over?.

Personally I’m glad England didn’t get to host the World Cup in 2006. I think it’s fantastic that it’s in Germany, the best thing that could have happened. I personally wouldn’t want the World Cup in England. The World Cup something you look forward to travelling too. For me the thought of playing the Germans in Munich or the Dutch in Stuttgart is much more appealing to travel over to Germany on a crusade than to play then in Coventry or wherever.
