What a Deal!

Yes but you've forgotten one thing. After watching Windsor last season perhaps they should pay US instead of us paying them!

But really it is a great deal. Although i'm not sure how many people will take it up.

Ideally the Sales Pitch should be aimed at all non-regulars (in an effort to make them regulars). We can ill afford to lose gate money by letting the regular punters through the gates without paying 50% of the time (the likes of Chopper's dad, Basil, Dawson etc).

It's the whole "new customers get the better deal" scenario.

'New customers' are more likely to pay for one match first, to see if they like the product. Eight Pounds is cheaper than one hundred if you don't come back. Discounted season tickets are bound to be bought preferentially by regulars, you only buy if you have an expectation of regular attendance. Perhaps the early season cashflow is more valuable than absolute revenue for the club?

good point well made. only those holding the purse strings will know if it's worth a little flutter on taking the £1500 up front (can't believe we'll sell more than 15 season tickets), or taking the £8.00 week by week.

doesn't seem much of a return to me, and sure we could raise £1500 if required desperately in the first few weeks of a season.

it's an excellent offer though - but i'd be keeping the offer away from regulars!

As a season ticket holder from last season, I'm planning to get mine this year before they notice and change their minds!

I assume that the main advantage of season tickets is that the club gets our money early, and while it is definitely a great deal, it's safe to assume that most holders will miss one or two matches over the year. One side effect of season tickets is that they assure at least some sort of a crowd when we are playing on a freezing cold Tuesday night in February, in the middle of a bad run of form, and with Man Utd on the TV!

Season tickets are realistically only there for the regulars. Nobody is going to invest in one without being at least a frequent attendee from previous seasons.

PS And I promise not to mention cup matches.....
