The end for Grays?

Even after all that happened to Hornchurch last season, we never started questioning the comings and goings behind closed doors. The forums were lively with debate and yes Uncle stood his ground,

and I am grateful that he did, because what would we have achieved without him?

Where are we now?

Essex senior league and still taking 300-400 to each home match and about 75 away.

Couldn't make it up if you tried, Football don't we just love it.

Islandersfootball - as a follower of Canvey, Spurs and Celtic myself, I had to say that I thought your picture and the three spinning badges are absolutely brilliant!!!

Wish I knew enough about computers to do something like that myself.

Sir, I salute you....

Perhaps, but I thought a form facism was taking away someones opinion because the "leader" or "boss" doesnt like it. I clearly wasnt being serious about my accusation.

it was a bit about how 'germany started' that amused me.

That question has been asked on Confguide a few times but nobody seems to have the answer. Like Canv i think if you have a Conference grading then you can go up and then have a set amount of time to bring it up to Football League standard but others have said this is not so.

It does not help that the criteria for Football League grading is not listed on it`s own website.

I have a mate who is a Grays fan and he went to the meeting the other week and it seems like the club are continuing their push. Here's roughly what I was told for those that are interested or need something to read -

He said everything was Ok at the meeting. MW handed out a document that explained some of the differences in "amounts" that were being banded about but they are looking for funding to continue development.

The Club only has a small change to be made to allow them league status and that will be completed soon. He believes that you have 18 months anyway when you are promoted to sort this out.

The plans are in place to build a 1000+ stand along the club end and the club and ball courts will be redesigned. Apparently this creates quite a bit of revenue.

MW will be staying and the unofficial forum has the clubs full backing also.

He also found out that there had been a theft in the club with 14k of ticket money being lifted, not sure if that is public knowledge yet. You wouldn't have thought that sort of thing happens in a place like Grays

You may also have noticed on other forums that there were a few idiots that had attached themselves to Grays on Saturday. They attacked a number of Halifax fans after the game and were extremely abusive to the away fans during the game - he was obviously concerned that his club had attracted this "element" - one thing we seem to have avoided.

There was a small piece in the Echo last week about the ticket money from the Cambridge game going missing. Who leaves thousands of pounds of cash in a van while the game is on and more to the point who knew it was there

Suppose you need to look out for a 16 year old couple pushing a Burberry Mama's & Papa's pram, wearing multiple layers of Aqua Scrotum and jingling £14k's worth of bling Shouldn't be hard to spot in Grays - should it??

Don't get lost in Grays. Happened to me once and it was the scariest experience of my life!!!

As for some of their supporters, they have had a bunch who've attached themselves to the club over the last few seasons who leave alot to be desired.
