Wimbledon 1-1 Billericay

A decent result at a handy AFC Dons. Well worked goal from a free kick which Macca popped home. Played well first half. Second half felt like Margate all over, early goal from them, and ew nearly fell apart. They could and probably should have beaten us with the chances they had, but overall 1-1 is reasonably fair.

Cant be arsed to write much, you can always watch the highlights if you didnt go. Have to say that while Dale was solid all day, his positioning for the free kick was poor, and although it was a good hit, it might have been saved if hed been better positioned. Great away singing (why cant we have that every game??), but i wasnt totally impressed with our support. I dont care about bad language, but at least save it until its relevant. Shouting '[****!!****]' at the keeper, when hes about to take the kick is unnecessary, and to be honestm not very imaginative or amusing. Im sounding like an old fart here, but why do we have to sing for MK Dons. I dont give a [****!!****] about them: we shouldnt have to resort to singing wind up songs, why cant we just sing for our own team, thats the reason were there.

Anyway, rant over. Was a good day out, nice ground etc, and a decent result. Really could do with a win on Tuesday to boost us. Leyton beat us twice at home last year, but theyre struggling this year, so 3 points would be nice, and a Trophy progress to round off a good week. Lets hope its that easy.

There was a huge gap to the left of the wall (from Dale's point of view). Everyone where I was standing (not behind the goal) knew where the ball was going and it did.

With you taff - thought the MK stuff was embarrassing and ignorant, especially bearing in mind not so long ago we were in a similar position ourselves and about to become "Basilricay". No complaints about the result as they really should have beaten us if they took their chances in the 2nd half. Great to experience a game played out in front of over 2400 and thought the atmosphere was so different to the moaning and abuse of the Shots fans in front of their 2000 plus crowds in our days at the Rec, the Dons massive really gave off positive vibes with their support, especially second half, making our silly MK jibes look even dafter. Let's stick to the positive stuff - off to look at the video from a "normal" angle now instead pf squinting up to the other end as we were most of the game from behind the goal !

Interesting posting by a AFC supporter on the Ryman chat room

Ricay complete dominate the first half and could have been 4 up at half time.Andersons tactic of playing Butler on his own up front at home very strange.Barry Moore over reacting for a challenge on our keeper leads to a handbags fight. Second half sees a different Afc turn up.The better side of Barry Moore a sweetly taken free kick dispatch to the net. Afc had a few chance to win the game in the second half but didnt take them.Ricay are two players short from winning this league, bought about 150 supporters didnt make much noise.Afc will be mid table unless they bring in target man for Butler to play of,and the defence to wake up!

Interesting comment on the team!

Just read the NLP report with a 3* rating. What game was he at or was he one of the what appear to be dialusioned wombles who are losing interest now their team are finding it hard to win every week in the higher league. i thought their fans only ever made any noise when they were on the attack unlike ours who for much of the game out sang and gave the lads buckets full of encouragement especially in the first half. Why did so many of their fans leave before the end especially as they were pushing hard for a winner.

cont from above... That said the hospitality given to us was very good and I cannot see why the police have to burdon them with a bill for so many attending the game Fans seemed very well behaved even though no proper segregation.

glad to see everyone in the crash Ok and hope you will all be at the game on Tues for revenge of Leyton.

Delboy, i disagree. If you compare theyre support to ours, we probably sing about as much as each other. Yesterday was an exception for us, we were even singing when defending a corner. Normally that would be silence. yesterday was a regular game for them, but a novelty to us. I think it is rather unfair to criticise thyeyre support

The postings suggesting Ricay fans are weirdos even more so than Wealdstone who had a bigger following in midweek was quite telling as well.

Oz, Which post on this thread suggest's Ricay fans are wierdos, and which post suggests Ricay fans are even more wierd than Wealdstone fans?

And why are you calling the Wealdstone fans Wierdos?

Ok Mr Cryer, perhaps I confused the matter by describing the thread as being based on this thread - my apologies. I should have suggested it was the thread that Dilbert referred to in his posting above, well further down the list of that particular thread other AFC supporters (purportedly) described the following Ricay fans as being weirdos even more so than Wealdstone fans but lesser in numbers. You won't find it as amusing as I did, I'm sure of that.

That some AFC supporters felt it worthwhile to remark that they found some of your lot well - oddities it would seem! Yet you're the first guys to make jibes at the followers of other clubs. Can you handle being called weirdos?

Yep and you're the first guy to go around pointing it out. Strange, I can't shake this picture of you...a bitter, twisted old man who has nothing better to do but surf the net for disparaging comments about all things Billericay.

And what makes it worse is, you base your entire opinion on what you read on the net...

Oz, get a life...
