Best performance of the Season

Brilliant!

Excellent performance and result by players playing IN their positions and everyone putting in tons of effert. Young lads running everywhere, older ones standing firm. Great shape to the team today and clinical finishing. Could have been 6-5 today. Not impressed by Hampton but then again the improvement in our side probably made them look worse than what they actually are. Certainly makes a change to see us making the opposition look WORSE rather than better than what they are. New boy Anton Robinson played his position well, got some vital knock ons and made a big difference to the midfield. My man of the match,if one is to be picked out was SEASY for his maximum effort and a fantastic last minute clearance of the line. Only in the last 15 minutes(including some 8-10 minutes extra time played) did we look like we were in trouble. But we should have expected an onslaught near the end. In general we were the much more adventurous team out there, played some good stuff and its all systems go from here.Cracking team effort today but disappointed by the 505 crowd. Maybe this will be the spur we need to get those absentees back. Cracking entertaining game all round, not just because of the score but for the vastly improved performance and attacking game played by our lads today. Lets hope it now continues to improve.

I did say in a post once that once Standen was missing from the line up we would win & so I am proved right. Sorry, but his replacement today kept his position, played some good balls, kept the ball well, gave some headed knock-ons,one an assist for Taylors goal and nearly scored a goal himself. A much much better prospect than Standen. That mans name is ANTON ROBINSON. A "Rocky" lookalike if ever I saw one. Now we are getting somewhere.

We all slated the team when they were playing poorly but we can now praise them for their different approach to the game & their improved performance.CK has done wonders with the new aquisitions and with more to come we can really begin to climb the league. We wouldnt have played the same game with the previous personel. On this form the play-offs aren't such an impossibility.

Yes a great result and good teamwork all round. Our forwards had their defence worried all afternoon, and what a great through ball by Robinson to set up Taylor.

The H&R message board has been criticising their midfield recently and ours certainly looked better today. However IMO we will be a better when Standen and Gradley return.

Man of the match difficult to call, but I am going for Sesay, tireless and skilful. He looks so much better when not forced into defence all the time. Superstrikers Amoako and Edwards also worth a mention!

Top of the league and we beat them fair and square even with the ref falling for their cheating.

You have to hand it to Kinnear and what he is doing with the resources available. I can't believe there were people on this forum calling for his head a couple of weeks ago. Whoever you were, come on this thread and say sorry!

PS. has anybody noticed the remarkable resemblance between Osman Sesay and Bill Edwards? If not, have a look at today's programme on the 'Player Profile' page near the end.

Well done boys, that was a good result. Good results also for Dartford and Gillingham <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />.

Our pairing at the back of Ross and Jamie Smith is starting to gel by the looks of it.

Another new striker on loan scored on his debut. I don't know if Manny was injured (yet again) but he does seem well down the pecking order now, who knows he might become available again during the transfer window.

Chris, only one person brought up the thread about CK and the rest of us joined in by giving our opinions on some of his tactics and team seection.. I cant remember anyone apart from the original post asking for his head. At that time certain critisism of that that has been mentioned above, I thought, were credible so dont go saying that we were after his head as that was NOT the case. Its a different thing to talk of his strategies and team selection etc etc but its an entirely different story asking for him to go.

We all have too much respect for him and know what he CAN do.

I expected some kind of comment like this to rise up once we got a good result and performance to go with it. At the time I think we were justified to criticise certain aspects but now we can praise his changed(some enforced)tactics and playing personel and thats what happens in football. One day up, one day down, but people are entitled to do both opinions as and when they happen, but the managers job was and still is not in doubt as far as 99.9% of fans are concerned.

Lets not spoil this fine day by having comments like that arising again as today we are celebrating a cracking win with a team willing to give their all and CK today gets the credit for that as much as the players out there today.

Cookie the only way to find out would be to go back and look at the thread, which I am not about to do because as you say today was great and we should all be looking forwards.

To change the subject, what were other people's thoughts on the disallowed goal? The H&R players seemed to be seemed to be saying if a player cleared off the line (Edwards) how could one of ours have been offside? The ref seemed to say to the lino 'I can't remember what happened' and the lino replied 'well I saw it as an offside'.

Reckon we might have been lucky there.

Have to disagree with chris for saying we will do better with standen but,

A brilliant, brilliant performance. I enjoyed every minute apart form the first. Hampton looked a good side but lacking a defence and keeper. However margate was brilliant, hard working ad passionate.

Bill Edwards was the best, with Osman sesay following suite. Who was number 2, he played great and everywhere. Taylor, Robinson and Adolf were great at attacking, Taylor and Robinson being brilliant signings.

Hopefully the pick up on the last three games will bring back a good crowd.

Best ever game for me (this season) and the singing and support mathed the performance. COME ON BLUE BOYS!!!

Also chris the lino had his flag up at the beggining of the attack and when Hampton thought they had scored the lino still had his flag up.
