I think it's just an excuse to do a bit of building on the green belt, nothing to do with football or promotion, it's about building confrence centres and hotels. We could be the next Purfleet.

I can see plenty of room for expansion at Clarence Park. Out over the bank of the railway line, extend towards Hatfield Road, Back towards the fence on York Road, and with regard to the Cola stand, who plays cricket anyway?

Why do we need to expand anyway, or are there people at this club still kidding themselves that one day we'll get out of this league we've been in since the 1920's??

The City station also has a large amount of car parking which is virtually empty on Saturdays and weekday evenings.

It makes no commercial sense whatsoever to relocate.

 

Spend the cash on players and trying to get us into the Conference instead, eh?

What was wrong with the plans Lee Harding produced? It included a stand that could be expanded to include 2000 seats. I think the real motive is not an better ground or Conference status, but an excuse for some out of town development.

Lee Harding's plans were good actually. The 2,000 seater stand and also the covered terrace behind the goal.

I have to admit that despite his other failings he did put together a reasonable plan for developing the existing ground and seemed to have the backing of the council. He always put the appearance of the park first. It's a shame not everyone supported it.

Indeed there is plenty of room to expand where we at the moment, except for York Rd but then if you levelled the "playing area" we could double the size of the terracing that end anyway...

 

Spend the money on the team/squad/bar and the rest will follow...err surely

I think we know who they are. No doubt they'll the first plunging a dagger into Gibbo's back when things get tough.

I believe the LH plans included improved bar facilites too. Perhaps we should question the Councillor when we see him.

He was a nice guy. But he was a coward. Yes, he liked EFM, let them in the boardroom, did the programme etc. But. Once the sh!t started to hit the fan, what did he do? Lied etc. All those financial problems, all those creditors, all the lies. 'Hate Mob Drove Me Out.'

The point was that he never suggested moving away from Clarence Park or from the City into some backwater, did he?

'Hate Mob Drove Me Out.' Slashed tyres. Spat at in the face. Wife too scared to come to cames. No apology after that, was there.

 

As far as I can remember, Harding suggested moving to near the Crematorium on London Road, amongst other places.
